Just a couple years ago, we left the Paris Climate agreement.
That was not off to a good start.

The Supreme Court just limited Federal power in curbing emissions.
That was not off to a good start.

A moran in West Virginia, along with a bunch of other morans from another moran party, are fighting back on pushing for domestic clean energy to the point where legislation won't get passed anytime soon.
That was not off to a good start.

And that's just the morans in our country.
There are morans all over our planet.

we don't need a lopsided agreement with paris to do the right thing. we know how to do it.

the paris agreement, like almost all agreements. has the rest of them suppling up to the teet. while the United States does all the heavy lifting. and they ride our coattails.

The US has less than 5% of the worlds population but emits 15% of the world's greenhouse gases hence why we were going to have to more 'heavy lifting'.

You are just making stuff up, per usual, with no reality in fact.

China and India were committed to the Paris Climate agreement.

i don't think china and india are the two countries you want to point to as the shining star the rest of the world should aspire to be more like.

I heard some hot take from some hot hippie chick the other day like "we're overdue for another constitutional convention."

Ours is one of the oldest constitutions by a long shot. Apparently other countries have ones that are "better." At least at addressing certain things.

I dunno the details, yet. But maybe there's merit. Anyone else familiar?

And it's not necessarily a novel thought, as I guess there's been calls for new constitutional conventions pretty much ever since the first one was written.

but, getting money out of the pols bored may be thee biggest existential threat to the United States today.

I'm not.
I'm just stating that they were committed to curbing emissions in a Worldwide effort and only recently, after some morans thought it was unfair to the US, did we decide to try and jump back on board.

This blanket idea that India/China = bad and USA = good is something that folks who don't leave their Michigan neighborhoods cling to.

are you talking about the same level of commitment that china was committed to, in finding the origins of the china fungus.

china is a shining star. a beacon for good.

maybe you should find another example.

"the paris agreement, like almost all agreements. has the rest of them suppling up to the teet. while the United States does all the heavy lifting. and they ride our coattails."

Refuted that with this:

"The US has less than 5% of the worlds population but emits 15% of the world's greenhouse gases hence why we were going to have to more 'heavy lifting'."

Then you said this:

"i don't think china and india are the two countries you want to point to as the shining star the rest of the world should aspire to be more like."

Then I said this:

"I'm not.
I'm just stating that they were committed to curbing emissions in a Worldwide effort and only recently, after some morans thought it was unfair to the US, did we decide to try and jump back on board.

This blanket idea that India/China = bad and USA = good is something that folks who don't leave their Michigan neighborhoods cling to."

Then you basically said this again but just added fungus to it:

""i don't think china and india are the two countries you want to point to as the shining star the rest of the world should aspire to be more like."

So you're still kinda stuck here:

"This blanket idea that India/China = bad and USA = good is something that folks who don't leave their Michigan neighborhoods cling to."

The US is doing the right thing in supporting Ukraine in the invasion.
Putin and Russia are doing the wrong things.
Not going Qusdahl.

I meant more the blanket oversimplifications like "that country bad this country good"

but, didn't you hear bro?

now we're giving the Russian invasion credit for ushering in a new era of liberal democratic freedum in Ukraine! They asked Mich about it at the mall and everything!

not Qusdahl tho. The only war he'll give credit to is class war.

without even planning on it, whoa, "class war" actually fits pretty well in this thread, particularly with the current discussion

so how do we get a critical mass to buy in?

I think most individual people do.

the must bigger issue is corporations, militaries, billionaires taking space vacations, etc.
