Dem voters didn't want him in 2020. They didn't want Hillary in 2016, either. But they were moderate choices that were foisted upon the party because the more popular options were "too far left" and having someone who better represented a majority younger voter base under the age of 50 was just too scary.

cuz Bernie was winning primaries and Joe was a walking gaffe, until he suddenly wasn't.

Look no farther than universal health care. In every other developed country around the world, health care doesn't even fall on the political spectrum because health care is an accepted human right. Only in America (cue Don King) is it seen as some terrifying communist plot because profits > people.

Nailed it. Young people don't vote because this system is set up to work against candidates who represent young people. You know, the young people that are going to sooner rather than later need to be trusted to run this country. The Democratic party has spent the last, what, 20+ years, worried about "moving too far left" while the world passes them by because the younger generation coming up hates the Democrats for not being far enough left.
