F the NCAA
Re: F the NCAA
the new model is called "pro sports."
Re: F the NCAA
i don't really care. i don't care about much. if i have no control, then i mostly don't care. i have no control over this. so i mostly don't care.
Re: F the NCAA
Wasn’t it like, explicitly illegal?
According to scotus, or somethin.
They agreed unanimously and everything.
Even Clarence Uncle Tom-as.

Re: F the NCAA
College athletics became a version of "pro sports" the minute they started handing out scholarships. Scholarships are a form of compensation.

Re: F the NCAA
It's been a minor league for decades. Glad they get compensated as such now.

Game of Basketball? Check
Played by players representing a college? Check
Seems to still be college athletics to me.
Sorry, I don't see anything missing that equates to a pile of meat, veggies and condiments just piled into a wrapper.

Played by players representing a college? Errrrr.....Technically, we can call it bread still, right?

Re: F the NCAA
College athletes have been getting compensation above and beyond their college scholarship since long before you were born so if that is your cutoff line then no, you cannot say that. You're just thinking you can remember it because you choose to remember it a way you wish it was, not how it actually was.
Re: F the NCAA
Good grief, that's just so ridiculous. Did Kansas win a national title last season or did whatever companies that granted NIL to various KU players win a national title? I can't even name a single company that gave NIL money to a KU player last year without looking it up. Can you?

A white person calling a black person an Uncle Tom is racially offensive and insensitive. Borderline racist.
Tell Q to take it to the poli board. Not me. I didn't call anyone an Uncle Tom.
Sorry that I don't get my messageboard giggles from casual racism or using racially offensive terms to describe a black person... and no clue why you're running to defend cascadia saying that uncle tom isn't a racial term when it is.

I am not defending anyone. Just wishing you would ignore a few stupid things here and there so this doesn't become the shit show that you inevitably turn things into.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Mon Aug 01, 2022 1:17 pm"Offensive"twocoach wrote: ↑Mon Aug 01, 2022 1:07 pmRegarding race does not mean "racist".
