Ignoring the fact that it was Texas' primary reliance on natural gas that left them in a lurch during the Great Texas Blackout of 2021.

"It’s estimated that about 80% of the grid’s capacity, or 67 gigawatts, could be generated by natural gas, coal and some nuclear power. Only 7% of ERCOT’s forecasted winter capacity, or 6 gigawatts, was expected to come from various wind power sources across the state."

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

"The Republican Party" probably isn't in complete agreement on who they want "on the throne". But most of them are in agreement they don't want it to be Biden or a Dem.

Brilliant deduction. Thanks for pointing that out.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 9:54 am"The Republican Party" probably isn't in complete agreement on who they want "on the throne". But most of them are in agreement they don't want it to be Biden or a Dem.
As the rest of us know, majority rules when it comes to primaries. Everyone who voted to impeach Trump is being run out of office when possible. It appears that the Republicans who support Trump are still in the majority of their own party at this time.

interesting (but not all that surprising)…all of the pubs that voted to impeach, and have survived their primaries, were running in “alternative” primaries (open, ranked choice, etc.)

Yep, the rest either quit or were voted out. It really is alarming the pure number of people who have devoted themselves to this con.KUTradition wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 10:34 am interesting (but not all that surprising)…all of the pubs that voted to impeach, and have survived their primaries, were running in “alternative” primaries (open, ranked choice, etc.)

No shit.
That's kind of the point. Which is why it is silly for some of you to be running around lighting your hair on fire.
But we know fairly certainly that if Trump isn't in jail (or ineligible to run) that he is running.

Republicans in districts in Wyoming, Michigan, South Carolina and Washington all had the opportunity to reject Trump's lies and reelect incumbents who stood up for the rule of law and voted to impeach Donald Trump. Instead, they chose to support candidates who are echoing Trump's lies. Four additional Reps who voted to impeach Trump are retiring, each of them cited reports of receiving a deluge of death threats.
Mich's reports of Republicans not wanting Trump on the ticket is clearly not an accurate one.
