No appeal, no lawsuits.
NFLPA knew NFL had Watson by the balls.
Wondering if NFL didn't want a federal judge tearing into their adhesive appeals process.

Re: NFL 2022
So now do the Browns stay pat with their QB crew or do they trade for Jimmy G so they have a chance on the season?
I think the NFL would prefer the Browns not be in the playoff picture this season.
Also, does the fine come out of his future earnings/paycheck?

Re: NFL 2022
I understand why people are upset with and don't like Watson--I'm in the same boat.
But, this should be the takeaway, imo. NFL owners just show their ass time and time again. I almost hate that the game is so damn entertaining.

Further proof you can be an all-pro defender - and be a terrible defender.
Yes, I understand it's just a scrimmage. Ok, how about this to help convince you?

How do the Bucs not struggle out of the gate?
I know Brady defies normal football laws, but a retirement, unretirement, new HC, and still not with the team in late August? Fighting for wild card spot?

"Fighting for wild card spot?"
Not in their division, no.
I could see them starting 2-2 though.

Re: NFL 2022
I don't see anyone in their division that can seriously contend for the division title vs. the Bucs. The rest of the starting QBs in the NFC South are Marcus Mariota, Jameis Winston and Baker Mayfield. The Bucs may very well go 6-0 in NFC South games.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Fri Aug 19, 2022 9:30 am How do the Bucs not struggle out of the gate?

Mike Tomlin is an absolute class act and any Steelers fan who tries to run him out of town deserves to get a retread shmuck as his replacement.

Yeah, pretty good points about the division. I don't think NO or CAR's roster is half-bad.twocoach wrote: ↑Fri Aug 19, 2022 10:06 amI don't see anyone in their division that can seriously contend for the division title vs. the Bucs. Yet I do recall when the Raiders one season went 6-0, or close to it, in the AFC West and missed the playoffs, lol.
Re: NFL 2022
It will be interesting to see how TB handles their games outside of the NFC South. They drew the AFC Central (@ Steelers, vs. Ravens, @ Browns (while Watson is still out) and vs. Bengals), the NFC West (vs. Rams, vs. Seahawks, @ 49ers, @ Cardinals) and then the winners of the NFC East, NFC North and AFC West (@ Cowboys, vs. Packers, vs. Chiefs). So potentially 8 or so tough games out of those 11.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Fri Aug 19, 2022 10:11 amYeah, pretty good points about the division. Maybe they get upside down in those and drop a good chunk of them and the Saints or Panthers take advantage of comparatively easier schedules for those three unique games, who knows.

I'm imagining a scenario where the DA reopens the criminal case(s), gets the judge to sign the arrest warrant while the team plane is in the air, then the cops wait for Watson to de-board.UnholyLivingDead wrote: ↑Thu Aug 18, 2022 11:36 am11 games seemed like a weird number. Surely the NFL wouldn't do something like that on purpose. /s

Re: NFL 2022
I looked at TB's roster again, and I'm back to being with your original take--they should cruise to the South title and host a playoff game or two. Tough schedule, though.twocoach wrote: ↑Fri Aug 19, 2022 10:23 amIt will be interesting to see how TB handles their games outside of the NFC South. And they seem to have drawn a large percentage of their tougher games as home games:CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Fri Aug 19, 2022 10:28 amI looked at TB's roster again, and I'm back to being with your original take--they should cruise to the South title and host a playoff game or two. Home (5): Ravens, Bengals, Chiefs, Packers, Rams
Road (3): Cowboys, 49ers, Cardinals
Compared to the Chiefs as an example of drawing more of your tough out of division games on the road
Home (3): Bills, Titans, Rams
Road (5): Cardinals, Colts, Bucs, 49ers, Bengals
