Interesting. Anyone else get an email asking to take a survey regarding the future of the football stadium?

Yes. Accidently deleted it, then when retrieving it, deleted it again, erasing it from memory. :(

Yes, it is pretty much the same survey they have been sending out about once a year.

A new/renovated stadium is 100% being discussed, but I would guess these surveys are also being sent out for general fan experience as well.

They do need to make the stadium more kid friendly. However that is done, but they need to make something where kids can take kids who don't want to stand or sit in one spot for 3 hours. And make it a part of the stadium. That's one thing that is lacking terribly.

Semi-related, they sent another email today saying they are doing fan tailgates on the Hill for the first time ever. Admission gets you inside a tent, food, games, and access to a cash bar. Don't understand why it took them so long to start that.

Old friend alert. Hopefully Mountain West football treats him well. He obviously wasn't Big 12/Power 5 caliber but wish him nothing but success.

Yeah I think this is his 6th year of college football?

2017 - freshman year in JUCO
2018 - Sophomore year at KU, plays 4 games, redshirts
2019 - RS Sophomore year at KU, doesn't play
2020 - RS Junior year at KU, plays 7 of 9 games, doesn't lose a year of eligibility due to Covid
2021 - RS Senior year at KU, plays 5 games, suffers a season-ending injury vs. KSU
2022 - Super Senior year at New Mexico

Possibly a really stupid question but I will still ask it.....
He graduated from KU. How many classes (if any) does he have to take at New Mexico to be eligible to play?

That's a good question and I don't know the answer. I know the old rule to qualify as a graduate transfer was you had to be enrolled in a graduate program at your new school that was not offered at your old school. But transfer rules have changed so much in the last 3 or so years that I don't even know if that's a rule anymore. And this is even different than a grad transfer I guess since it's his extra year he's allowed due to 2020.

Seems like this coaching staff lands almost all of it's targets from the transfer portal...I know it's not 4 or 5-star guys, but they do their homework and get commitments from the players who they think will fit the system. Over time, I hope they prove they can do the same with high school kids...it'll be real interesting to see what happens with recruiting if they start winning some football games.

Good news: We are mentioned in multiple tiers!
Bad news: The tiers are not good.

https://www.espn.com/college-football/i ... 022-season

Tier 19: At least they're not as bad as Kansas
"You don't win friends with salad."
Five teams: Arizona, Colorado, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Northwestern

Tier 20: At least they're not markedly worse than Kansas
"You know, Homer, it's very easy to criticize. ... Yeah. Fun, too."
Three teams: Duke, Kansas, Vanderbilt

Kansas was 0-10 against FBS schools last year. (Note: This is technically a Texas joke.)

I saw that article as well. ESPN writers trying to be funny always seems to fail.

ESPN can't write that kind of garbage based on the competitive relationships they have to manage. AP's bottom ten never helped teams get better either.

So this week we landed an OL transfer from Louisville. He was the backup RT on their depth chart. Obviously this is WAY past the transfer deadline to make him eligible immediately but apparently KU is filing for a waiver from the NCAA that would allow him to play right away. What do you we make of this? Word out of camp has been our starting 5 OL is solid but the depth is not good. Has to be a play to fill a big need for OL depth.

Would be great if he is immediately available, you never know with these appeals but it seems like lately they have been approved more often.

Either way, great pick up.

He'll be behind and the OL unit surprisingly isn't half bad.

If you can get him eligible, I like the idea of playing him the last 4 games and then taking the RS (if available). Of course, if he comes in and is the best OT, then play him.

I think he is Redshirt Soph. Going to be depth along with Puni who is a transfer. Hope he is eligible right away.
