It means that this year he is the director of student athlete development and that next year his role might be different or somewhere else.

Dooley — he previously worked for Self at KU 10 seasons, including the 2008 NCAA title campaign and 2012 Final Four season — rejoins the Jayhawks’ basketball staff as as men’s basketball director of student-athlete development.
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
