This song came out 2 years after I graduated ‘ol KU.

The first time I heard it, I was driving through the west Texas desert, headed to pick up a prison escapee in El Paso.

Desert, lightning about a hundred miles away, and a song the type of which I had never heard.

A moment I will never forget
Kids, both you you.

You’re old…lol. Just kidding. That song came out in 1990 I believe, the year I graduated from High School.
Fucking kids.,.,get off of my lawn!

Beyonce's album is out there breaking records.
I gave the single "Break My Soul", which has 85 million listens on Spotify so far, a go.

Sounds like ( very ) repetitive sampling from early 90s house music.
Different strokes.

That can be a blessing or a curse.
I felt it was a weak "big name" lineup this year BUT.....
I like being exposed to unfamiliar music and finding hidden gems.
There were many bands/musicians I had never known anything about - that I throughly enjoyed.
Only negative - after being exposed to close to a half million people (100,000/125,000 each day) over the past 4 days I will be shocked if I didn't contract Covid.

I see they've gone late 60s psychedelic. Try this out, they'll be in the states in October:

At what point are you no longer the band you claim to be? If I am not mistaken they may have one original member - if that. Pretty much a cover band at this point.
From my friend Charlotte.....
"24 hours ago Matt was asked to sub for Smash Mouth’s drummer".

I have posted on here that I went to school with Charlotte and Matt and Matt has been the drummer for the Smashing Pumpkins, Morrissey, Garbage, and others.

dangit, can't see the vid.

didn't Smash Mouth's lead singer promptly retire after he showed up to a performance drunk and started cursing out fans and spewing antisemitic shit?

as for Goose, I have one buddy who tried to get me to go to that Red Rocks show with him last week, but tickets were $100+ after fees and everything, and I just wasn't sure I was ready to drop that kind of coin on a band I only had a little interest in seeing. Especially a jam band.

I mean unless a jam band is either some iteration of either Phish and/or the Dead, the show is less about the music and more about watching wooks dance. And the thing is, why drop a bill to go watch wooks dance at Red Rocks when there's bars in town here where I can go watch wooks dance for free?

or, maybe I should just give Goose more of a chance.

Not a phish fan but have seen them twice at The Gorge with friends who love them. Great shows, good times.

They’re banned from Red Rocks, right?

lol yea.

there's some infamous story about some show way back when all the hippie wook phans kept bum rushing the gates and security lines trying to get in, so Phish isn't allowed back to Red Rocks any more.

Which is too bad, they'd kill at that place. I've seen a few bands play there and the sound is unreal.

If you've never seen them, I'd highly recommend. Again, not really a fan, but they put on a hell of a show.

In terms of acoustics and ambiance, yea red rocks is hard to beat.

Having lived in CO tho, red rocks gets kinda cliche. Some folks here try to base their entire personality off of it and stuff.

And it would have been sweet to see Phish and so many other bands there while you could. But It's also not a relatively big venue, like 9500 capacity. Dick's is a soccer stadium that can accommodate 27000 for concerts, and Phish still sold out 4 nights straight.

and if you're there for a summer show there's about a 50/50 chance you're gonna get stormed on.

Man, I was there a couple months ago for that Jerry symphonic thing.

Clouds roll in and starts drizzling right as they start up Bird Song. Thunder claps and the sky opens up the instant they sing "I'll show you snow and rain," and the place went apeshit.

I actually attended one of those four shows in 1996 at Red Rocks. We camped Friday and Saturday night at the nearby Chief Hosa campground, attended the Saturday show and got gooned out of our minds. It was multiple days before I felt sober again. I had to bar tend the Sunday brunch shift at the Broadmoor Hotel and was still fully hallucinating throughout my entire shift.

I remember Morrison being total chaos as no restaurants or stores were even remote equipped to deal with the crowds. We finally found a place to eat some breakfast that Saturday morning but it was a chore to get anywhere.

Phish didn't return to Red Rocks until 2009.
