Cell phone vids are just that - amateur documented footage of an unscripted event with a shitload of shit going on.
One could feasibly scrutinize every last detail and come up with sumptin to fit whatever narrative they want. Sure, if it definitely catches something, that’s one thing, but there’s a lot of chaos to dissect.

And just reading between the lines, “a bunch of smartass teens in MAGA hats were heckling us minorities” seems more plausible than “a bunch of belligerent black dudes were yelling hate speech at us so we asked our chaperone for permission to go sing them our school fight song.”

So, some snotty kids whose parents pay big bucks so that Catholic school kids can feel they've gotten a better education than all those kids in schools that are more diverse or than those kids who are actually minority, acted out in public in a way that snotty, racist Catholic school boys seem to have a tendency toward.

What seems surprising is that the well-off teens don't seem any more conscious than cops of how they look on video.

Good lord. There's a lot of people bending themselves into pretzel knots trying to find some way to still bash these kids. It's OK to say "based on the initial information I was provided I thought these kids were racist pricks but after receiving more information I do not feel the same way".

We don't need to double down on the craziness and start to invent scenarios to justify our faux outrage.

Dig hard enough and I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the Russians, Chinese or North Koreans were behind such efforts to sow more discord in our nation. This is what they do and how they do it and as we have displayed, it works very effectively.

- yeah cell phone vids and social media certainly do offer new perspectives
- cell phone vids and social media will likely help advance civil rights, considering that for so long the narrative would have simply been left at, "those Black Hebrews are dickheads and poor whitey's off the hook again!"
- of all times and places to stir up a racial controversy, this went down on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, right where MLK Jr. delivered his "I Have A Dream" speech.
