I don't consider two games for 2 misdemeanor charges that did not involve domestic violence or substance abuse/DUI to be light. It seems to be the standard. Richie Incognito got a 2 game suspension after being arrested for disorderly conduct.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Wed Oct 26, 2022 9:11 am Light punishment handed out in time for two light weeks. A 3rd and 6th for Toney seems steep, but he'll probably turn into like Stefon Diggs.

As I said, it seems to be the standard. I don't think the Chiefs got screwed so I am not sure where your sarcasm is based.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 11:36 amOh I know, totally screwed!!twocoach wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 11:21 amI don't consider two games for 2 misdemeanor charges that did not involve domestic violence or substance abuse/DUI to be light. Kadarius Toney trade.
It's a conditional 3rd and 6th, probably linked to amounts of games played.
His health has been his detriment.
He's electric when on the field.
Kinda like it.

Long term play. They traded their conditional 3rd round pick. Probably not a player of his potential at somewhere around pick 100.CrimsonNBlue wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 11:38 am A 3rd and 6th for Toney seems steep, but he'll probably turn into like Stefon Diggs.
It's worth a shot. Not a play for 2022, but instead a play for 2023 and beyond.
Skyy Moore, Toney and MVS the only WR on contract currently after the 2022 season.

Re: Chiefs 2022
Well, if he's lying about his hamstring and, like Golloday, just isn't gelling with the new staff, it could very well be a play for 2022.
Have the bye this week.
He'll still need a couple weeks to get acclimated.
But by the game @ the Chargers just before Thanksgiving, he'll have learned enough to get him involved.
He's likely a better slot than Hardman/Skyy Moore.

Re: Chiefs 2022
I think Toney is talented and would much rather have him around long term than Scantling. Don't know if he's worth a conditional 3rd, but there's no way to know what you might or might not get there in the future.NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 27, 2022 12:16 pmLong term play. Re: Chiefs 2022
He was the 20th overall pick just a year ago and the Giants didn't reach, he went around where expected.
His attitude and health are the question not his talent.
You can't get that talent easily in the 3rd round.

Re: Chiefs 2022
It is an interesting dynamic. Teams don't want to give up defensive first rounders. But the offense has so many advantages as to negate the "must have edge rushers" and disruptive linebackers. The SF game kind of shows the logic in adding weapons to a team that could score 60 points against an average defense. The Giants offense couldn't afford to alienate a first round receiver.

Sparko posts are like fusion dishes where you have to decipher the all the hidden flavors and then figure out if you like it.
Re: Chiefs 2022
The Raman version is the Giants offense is pretty one dimensional and SF even with elite defenders was embarrassed.
Re: Chiefs 2022
Jimmy G is not in the upper half of the NFL QBs.
That matters.
That matters.
Re: Chiefs 2022
I agree--but fixation on defense in the NFL has not been practical since Dilfer. Even then I still remember the Super Bowls we did not have with Thomas and Smith and Jimmy G clones copped from SF.

Re: Chiefs 2022
Chiefs trade CB Fenton to Falcons in what's considered a salary dump move. For a 7th round pick.

Get a draft pick back for a guy you weren't going to re-sign in the offseason, not a bad move.

Re: Chiefs 2022
And Fenton was the worst CB of the group BY FAR

A conditional seventh.
Eh.
I guess our rookie CB's have shown enough to where we feel we have the depth - especially with McDuffie back.

Re: Chiefs 2022
I am interested to see how ready to play McDuffie is. He has been back at practice since Oct. 12th so it's not like he just got back. Hopefully he is up to speed.
