Re: F the NCAA
I'll also post again to remind that the NCAA has disbanded the IRP.
So, you have an "independent" body that no longer exists somehow handing out punishments for breaking rules that no longer exist based on "evidence" that was gathered by someone else, that was not admissible, and not allowed to be cross-examined by the accused.
An absolute bullshit clusterfuck, but at least this is over soon.

Re: F the NCAA
This has been a cloud hanging over the program for about 5 years now.
Kansas probably knows something we the general public does not. We are trying to soften the blow as much as we can.

I get it, but the thing to focus on is KU's actions. Plus, if there is any kind of agreement in place, NCAA would be bound--they don't want this to get into full litigation.
Re: F the NCAA
ah, that's a good point.
Glad we get a lawyer's take on it.
That's why I've had CnB on retainer ever since that dog bit me.

I think it means we will have 12 scholly players for 2024; 2025; and 2026.columbusdjkc wrote: ↑Wed Nov 02, 2022 10:21 am Do you think the three scholarship over three years means all three scholarship are gone for three years or it’s one scholarship a year for three years. The wording was a little weird I thought. That’s probably the worst part of this. Most of the 2022 recruiting stuff probably doesn’t matter much since we are in good shape for next recruiting class.
Unless we start in 2023, which would mean Cam Martin pays his own way.
Re: F the NCAA
or, just going for devil's advocate downer pity here...
what if it DID get into full litigation?
Could that be any kind of strategic anything?

Also, the suspension is for game day only. Self will continue to coach and come up with game plans. Just won't be on the sidelines.
That's fine.

yea, I wrote a check...to my orthodontist.
I have a retainer to straighten my smile, and literally wrote "CnB" on it
...that's not now this works?

Re: F the NCAA
is this the first time in the Self era we've had anyone besides Self in the head role on the sidelines?NewtonHawk11 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 02, 2022 10:31 am Also, the suspension is for game day only. Self will continue to coach and come up with game plans. Just won't be on the sidelines.

I don't recall him ever missing a game otherwise...
who do you think he is, K?
Re: F the NCAA
I'm imagining this was well in the works and is partially why we brought back Dooley.

Norm Roberts is a damn good basketball coach. We're a little lucky that he took a bad job.
I was just really looking forward to Self undressing Scheyer, though. Of course, as Newton stated, Self will be everywhere but the bench. In the stands drinking vodka tonic in Indy.

The annoying thing is if self is suspended the champions classic game (The first big event of college basketball), espn is gonna turn this into an absolute fiasco
Re: F the NCAA
"We are hopeful these difficult self-imposed sanctions will assist in bringing the case to a conclusion," Kansas athletic director Travis Goff said. "Until then, we will continue to focus on supporting our outstanding men's basketball student-athletes and coaches. ... Per confidentiality guidelines related to infraction cases, we are unable to comment in depth until there is full resolution of this matter."

Re: F the NCAA
I hope I'm wrong, but I'm concerned this might have made things worse. Seems someone at the NCAA has a thing against Self and KU. They might see this as admitting guilt and then push for more extreme things. Then again, not sure if it's better to admit nothing wrong.
