They’re all the same thing. But also 3 different things. It makes sense if you don’t think about it.

Musk is a perfect example of what I say too often. Smart people do stupid things.
I'm curious as to how he truly feels about those who lost a crap load of money on the Lilly prank - and it's now snowballing in regards to the fake "verified"/"blue check" tweets.
My guess is he's well aware of the potential legal consequences and has properly protected himself.
That being said, what if any remorse does Musk have? To the best of my limited knowledge, he's yet to comment.

Doesn't appear he bought it for financial reasons. If it was, then he made a bad financial choice. He wanted to do some good, and he has. It's hilarious that people are "outraged" after he made it more free speech. Twitter was an awful site before Musk took over. Whatever happens with Twitter, even if it dies, we all win.

……and if it sends Musk back under whatever rock he crawled from under it will be win-win-win.

I don't think he bought it for financial reasons, either. I think he bought it more than anything just cuz he can.

He's a dood with no impulse control who impulsively inked a deal without thinking it through...the dog that caught the car.

It wasn't until after the fact that he actually did stop and think about it. Only then did he realize he really is bound to those terms. That's why he then tried to get out of it, but couldn't.

Then, he shows up as the new owner, and starts impulsively firing people...again, just cuz he can. And one of his big new initiatives for twitter is impulsively offering verified checkmarks for $8 bucks a pop, again, just cuz he can...which, of course, has gone over sooo well.

It's less cuz of some bigger strategy to fix twitter, and more cuz he's a sociopathic manchild who lacks anyone in his world to tell him no.

But go figure the Musk simps think he has some brilliant master strategy anyway! (At this rate, add a few bankruptcies and a bunch more sexual harassment allegations, and soon enough he'll be a GOP presidential candidate.)

And, who knows what WILL become of Twitter! If it IS any kind of success going forward, I think it'll be less cuz of any brilliant master plan ushered in by Musk, and more just cuz it'll exist as some haven for the hate speech and misinformation valued by the lobsters of the world, and for the various other temporarily embarrassed millionaire types who refuse to stop gargling Elon's nuts no matter how much of a piece of shit he proves himself to be.

Proving once again that Elon is a horrible human being, he sniped back at Sen Markey when the Senator asked about a WP reporter creating a parody account of him. Musk’s response? A snarky tweet mocking Markey is wearing a mask in his profile picture. I thought Musk was for free speech?!?!? What difference does it make what the Senator wears?

Also I love Markey’s response: Fix your company or Congress will. I hope Markey follows through with his oversight responsibilities.

I don't really care about Musk one way or the other but he has a history of some not so wonderful things.

I hated that response from Markey. Sounds like Trump - gets insulted and responds that he's going to use his political power against him. That's completely inappropriate.

Kind of sad how some of you just get on the "let's hate this guy" train because the media tells you to. I don't like everything Musk has done, but he's a genius who's done more good for society than I could ever hope to do. I certainly appreciate his efforts for free speech while also fact checking Joe Biden (which is hilarious).

No. If Musk had said he’ll make sure he would ensure that he gets to the bottom of it and ensure that he shuts down accounts impersonating others I doubt that Markey would have escalated. It’s entirely appropriate and very different from Trump using political power against his opponents

If you have to ask, spend a few minutes researching and educating yourself - if you care.
My guess is you won't because you don't really care. Am I right?

I hate Twitter, I dont like Musk.

That being said, the government (regardless of who) really has no business getting involved.

I'd rather not have the gummint stepping in either, except if/when absolutely necessary.

in the context of Musk and twitter, who should step in, if NOT the gummint?

if you say something like "just let the free market regulate itself," please bear in mind, the free market is what's creating these problems in the first place.

Why does Twitter need 'stepping in'?
