Costa Rica is not good. Like at all. Couldn't complete a pass. But Spain looks gooooooooooooooooood
Been a rough go for CONCACAF.

I think all the CONCACAF scores, except for the ass pounding Costa Rica just took, are on par with expectations.

Canada looked better than Belgium.

Costa Rica sucked.

US gets 3 points if not for Zimmerman panic.

Mexico struggled to a draw.

About expected.

Real test is Friday.
Kane isn't 100%.
Can we get a point?

I very highly doubt it but we did it in 2010.

You love our chances with a point.
Let's also hope somehow Iran upsets/ties Wales.

You have to get a point because Wales likely ties or beats Iran.

And then a good chance England and Wales will have a gentleman's agreement to put both through to the round of 16.

I dunno.
They have somewhat of a rivalry.
I don't think they'd just sit there and be ok with 0-0.

At worst though, we cannot loose by more than 1 goal and we need to score 1 goal.
A 2-1 loss or 3-2 loss wouldn't be the end.

Is it just me or have the World Cup refs been as bad as NFL refs in regards to seeing things that didn't happen and not seeing things that did?

On second thought/view, maybe they did get the penalty in which Ronaldo scored right. ;)

Well, that was the result we wanted.
Basically we gotta beat Iran to get in.

You couldn’t ask for a better result in that game for the US.

Do you replace all four guys with yellows today with eyes on the Iran match?

Probably wouldn't hurt to replace some.

Don't know if I would want Aaron Long or CCV on the backline with Zimmerman. Yedlin can replace Dest and do fine, I'm sure since Dest isn't at 100%.

Saw a lineup idea somewhere, but it was a 4-4-2 diamond.

GK - Turner
Backline of Robinson, Ream, Zimmerman and Dest
Midfield of Musah and McKennie at the true CM, Adams at CDM and Reyna at CAM
Pulisic and Weah up top as the 2 forwards.

Wouldn't mind it.

Helps you stay defensive-minded but gives you 3 dynamic players up top to make some plays happen against a somewhat shaky England defensive backline.

Gakpo again for the Dutch. Impressive young player. Surely earning himself a large transfer fee in the next window with his performance so far.

Both teams feeling things out early. US has rarely played the possession game against the giants of the world. They're trying it today.

Great buildup by England. Good block by Zimmerman.
