I just saw over on kuathletics that Clint Johnson died last month. He showed up at KU in the fall of 74 just as I was leaving school but I saw him play plenty of times. He was a Leavenworth kid and warrior on the basketball court. He was smart, played under control, and was a great defender. I particularly remember his matchups with Mike Evans from K-State who ended up having a 10-year NBA career. Clint always held his own in those matchups. A great athlete, I believe he even got a tryout as a DB with the Cowboys.
He was one of those guys that played 45 years ago that makes the Fieldhouse of 2022 what it is.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

He was one of my favorites, especially in 1975. He had a great mid-range jumper and was very composed all the time.
