Mixed feelings on this.
The idea that once again our tax dollars are going to bail out poor financial decisions?
That's part of it.

Did they fix the pension issue or just fill the leaky bucket with more water?

Did they recoup all the commissions and admin fees that were charged by the people who mismanaged the pension fund?

If I underfund my 401k or mismanage my investments I sure hope I get bailed out.

There's a difference between getting screwed over by someone else's incompetence and screwing yourself over with your own incompetence.

No shit.

This situation is a mixture of both.

These people should have been well aware that their pension fund was not performing well enough to survive.

This.

Unfortunately, crying JINX and blaming others is something that us ‘Mericans have perfected.

Watching the White House Xmas Tree lighting show tonight. This must be the largest crowd to ever show up for the tree ceremony. There must be a million people there, and every network is covering it, the TV ratings must be through the roof! There is a black man who is the mc and they are celebrating every religion and there are trans singers drag racing nonbinary athletes on Pennsylvania Avenue, this might be the bestest greatest Xmas celebration ever, thank you Uncle Joe.

Those who cannot prove they’re likely to face torture if returned to their home countries would have to show they first sought and were denied asylum in a country they passed through on their way to the U.S. border, four sources familiar with the planning say.

That model, first reported to be under consideration by The New York Times, is commonly called a “transit ban” and was first put into practice in 2019 by former President Donald Trump’s hard-line immigration adviser Stephen Miller.

Asked about the Times report during an interview with NBC News on Monday, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas did not deny that a so-called transit ban was under consideration.

There is no administrative way to change the fact that it is less desirable to live in tropical regions than it is to live in more temperate regions. The primary crops grown to feed people grow better outside the tropics. Excessive tropical temperatures and humidity increase the costs of manufacturing and technology. There are more nefarious diseases in the tropics.

Dems. Pubs. No one can change the fact that people would rather live in the US than in the general crotch rot that is Central America. But we could certainly figure out a better way to help invest in their nations and better ways to try to process the people who attempt to come to the US. There is just so much about it that is wholly broken and is working for no one involved or affected by the problem.

The stock market is not the economy. True when the market is up, and when the market is down. I'm sorry that this inconveniences you.
