Mixed feelings on this.

The idea that once again our tax dollars are going to bail out poor financial decisions?

That's part of it.

Did they fix the pension issue or just fill the leaky bucket with more water?

Did they recoup all the commissions and admin fees that were charged by the people who mismanaged the pension fund?

If I underfund my 401k or mismanage my investments I sure hope I get bailed out.

There is no administrative way to change the fact that it is less desirable to live in tropical regions than it is to live in more temperate regions. The primary crops grown to feed people grow better outside the tropics. Excessive tropical temperatures and humidity increase the costs of manufacturing and technology. There are more nefarious diseases in the tropics.

Dems. Pubs. No one can change the fact that people would rather live in the US than in the general crotch rot that is Central America. But we could certainly figure out a better way to help invest in their nations and better ways to try to process the people who attempt to come to the US. There is just so much about it that is wholly broken and is working for no one involved or affected by the problem.
