Listening again. Good grief, his opening was what a complete weenie would say. Voice inflection.

He needs to stop it.

If you have any desire to tell him yourself what you think, here's his email address. I just sent him an email that included a link to this message thread.

Not really. His email address is on the KU athletics website. Public information being disseminated by his employer.

He will probably grow on me.

I just want homers like Bob and Max. But I was in my 20s when I got hooked on them. Now I’m closer to retirement than when I was young.

You mean the cheese that you can't sneak past a hungry mouse? Man I love Hud.

Still difficult to listen to.

I would like it better if the SM South color guy would drink during the game.

“Rock Chalk It Up.”

Will never like that.

Did enjoy Brian bitching at Gurley for sticking him with a $700 bar bill previously. That’s how they should end the game. “Who’s buying?”

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with some corny homerisms, and Rock Chalk It Up is just that (and doesn’t get in the way of the action). I have a much bigger issue with the weird, barely-sequitur phrases that are interjected into the action.

Listened again last night. He either sounded more normal or I’m getting used to it.

He's fine. If you look past the corny phrases and the drawn out words, he actually brings some good insight.
“I don’t remember anything he said, but it was a very memorable speech.” Julian Wright on a speech Michael Jordan gave to a group he was in

Think we're stuck with him for 30-40 years? I'd love to find the next Bob Davis and he ain't it.

Barring a major scandal, yes. This is his 'dream' job, KU doesn't have any waiting in the wings and no one of a major name is going to move to Lawrence to do basketball and football games.

Finally got around to listening to The Jayhawker Podcast. I thought it was terrific. Gooden being his first guest, made it all the more professional. Drew now being the Wizards TV broadcaster.

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/1 ... 0462043905

I enjoyed hearing about the recruiting world back then prior to internet sites.

Having a 1 on 1 showdown with Hinrich at AFH before leaving.

Throwing Kirk to the wolves by saying not only did he pull the most tail, he also never went out to get it.

Also throwing Roy under the bus for holding Kirk back. Saying he had the most flash on the team, but Roy didn’t like them playing any showtime, so Kirk had to tone it down.
I am, I said.
