Giving Vick 23 minutes and Garrett 26 and Grimes 20 probably wasn't an answer though.
They combined 2-9 for 5 points.
Vick doubled their output in half the minutes.

Leadership. LOL. we need better fucking players who can actually play together and not like 5 individuals.

Which would be majorly helped by having a leader.

Obvious guys like Seniors Mason and Graham would not allow this to happen: 0 confidence, 0 energy and they are having 0 fun.

But, even if this team had a Senior Miles, Senior Tyshawn, Senior Releford, Senior Collins--this wouldn't be happening. Self's not an idiot, he knows a big ingredient is missing.

Sure leadership is missing. But elite players are also missing.

Self is paid enough that he should be the fucking leader since he hasn't recruited a leader. Expecting Vick to be the leader? LOL we've got 3 years of evidence that says that's not reality. Dedric? Punched mitch in the nose 2 week into his time at KU....that doesn't scream natural leader to me.

This year is on Self...Vick was never meant to be a #2 option and "leader" of a team.

I'm not giving up. There's a lot of ways to have a successful season in college basketball. We can still win conference. We still control our own destiny.

Vick was never meant to be on this team either.

Bill's kicking himself for that one.

But Bill really mismanaged the GM aspect of his job for the 18, 19 and 20 seasons.

Ya. If dedric and Dotson don't come back we could be in big trouble.

Best not to think of next year yet.

Not for some dumbass reason like focus or thinking ahead. No. Because next year is gonna suck, and it’s just not fun to think about.

He didn't look all that immobile to me during at least 2 shot clock violations...just more not paying attention even though the UT fans were counting for him...just has went into what seems like a IDGAF mode.

Yeah. I get that, too.

Same as the last 2' of the UK game. He finally showed up.

If we mean Bills kicking himself because he thinks he could have gotten Langford instead of Vick, fair.
But once Langford was out of the equation and Vick wanted back, I don’t think he’s kicking himself for that—I know you don’t like the kid but he’s won us games and he’s not our biggest problem by any means.

Frustrating and embarrassing. At one point we were ranked 1st. One day you're steak, next day you're beans.

Only indirectly I guess. But just look at the roster. Assuming no surprise returns, it’s just...a lot like this one, minus Vick and Dedric and plus nothing of immediate impact.

i really wonder if we’d be that much worse without vick

it’s easy to say yes, but it’s no telling how Grimes might have developed performance-wise, and how both he and Dotson might have been able to slide into more effective leadership roles, had vick not come back

Plus Agbaji would be that much further along and he’s not a complete headache.
