I’m just not sure he’s athletic enough to be a no-3-only-D guy.randylahey wrote: ↑Tue Jan 31, 2023 7:55 am Mccullar is perfect for playing defense at the NBA level. And he's a good rebounder and passer. Someone will give him a chance, drafted or not
His shooting isn't thaatt bad. Its bad. But could improve. A lot better than Marcus garretts

Re: 2023 NBA Mock Drafts
I know it’s just like apparently some bleacher report article (from like 2 weeks ago!), but Jalen just shot up like 20 spots…like sniffing the first round you guys!
Re: 2023 NBA Mock Drafts
Absolutely.
His 3pt shooting has been really good this season. 35% so far.
He could sniff first round.
I still don't think his style works in the NBA. But Kyle Anderson and Georges Niang are both rotation players, so there's that.
Re: 2023 NBA Mock Drafts
I feel like the vast majority of missed projections of NBA players/prospects, both in overrating and underrating, stem from over-emphasizing athleticism.
Re: 2023 NBA Mock Drafts
There were a few doubters on here, posting on this very thread, that Jalen could go league.
I was not one of them.
I was not one of them.
Re: 2023 NBA Mock Drafts
To be fair, nobody could have expected him to be this good. He's putting up insane numbers when you look at who we've had here, how good they were, and what their numbers were.
Re: 2023 NBA Mock Drafts
For sure.
They still have to learn to play basketball and be skilled. Otherwise they don't survive. And they don't get long to develop those skills 2 or 3 years max.
KU wise Diallo comes to mind.
Re: 2023 NBA Mock Drafts
Speaking of one of the doubters.
Re: 2023 NBA Mock Drafts
What does "go league" mean? Do I think he will appear in an NBA game? I do.
But it's not like I'm calling his mother ugly by noting the obvious: he's a below-average athlete for this level. The number of guys like that who really stick at the next level isn't a big one at all.
Re: 2023 NBA Mock Drafts
Go league generally means, for me, get drafted.
Re: 2023 NBA Mock Drafts
I still see Jank in the League.

10. Washington Wizards: Gradey Dick (Kansas, SF, Freshman)
Washington could see Dick as a surefire asset to their rotation with his 6'8" size, special shooting skill and defensive toughness. He comes off as a high-floor prospect, but he also has a path to upside with his shot-making versatility and athletic finishes.
30. Indiana Pacers (via Celtics): Jalen Wilson (Kansas, SF, Junior)
The slashing, finishing and mid-range scoring have always made Wilson interesting, but it's the improved three-point volume (2.2 3PTM) that has turned him into a more believable NBA prospect. He's already had 10 games making at least three three-pointers.
