Yesefu came out and gave us 2 minutes. An airballed three and got burnt off the dribble. Jeesh
🤣

MJ was just as bad. Bobby was better than both MJ and Yes tonight.

DH was awesome. KJ was awesome. KM was awesome. JW was awesome. Udeh was awesome.

My 2 cents:

JW should be having plays run for him every single time down the court. Preferably before we are down double digits.

This isn't a year where we can go 5 or 10 minutes straight without running any real offense. This team isn't talented enough to freelance for long periods.

Self gets a D- coaching grade from me today.

it sucks that we have to rely on jumpers for a freshman but we need Gradey hitting those

KJ is good at what he does, looks awesome against the right matchup, but also just looks OK against the wrong matchup too. either way it also sucks that we don't have a real big we can play.

and Mc does a lot of things but it sucks that he's prone to not scoring, especially when we have so many other guys who are prone to not scoring too

speaking of guys who are prone to not scoring, our guards, jeez. we need them to be able to hit some floaters, maybe even knock down a layup or a jumper. Or, heaven forbid, get to the line.

Dajuan has good hands on D, and takes care of the ball I guess. but for a high major blue blood, I think a player like Dajuan should still at least be some threat to score. Or, even least than that, be able to just go get somebody else a bucket. You'd think a non-scoring PG would be getting wherever he wants on the floor and living in the lane and making easy shots happen for others at will, but alas.

and, dammit Bobby. I know he's supposed to be the next in line as KU's lead once he's an upperclassman, but pretty much every other upperclassman lead guard at least showed flashes as a sophomore. And the thing about Bobby is, I expect even less from him at this point than I do from Yes!

We did run some decent offense and got what we wanted out of it except a made basket. You can X and O until you're blue in the face but you have to hit open shots. You also have to rebound and get some stops on D.

Agree....But for long stretches it seemed like we stopped.

Dajuan Harris averages almost 8pts a game.

How many pts does he have to score to be acceptable in your eyes?

Dajuan was horrible today, no way around it. Dajuan doesn't get to have all the praise because "the offense runs better with him in" but then not get criticized when the offense turns it over 20 times and shoots 25% from the field.

Yes he was.

So was Yesufu, Bobby, Kevin, Gradey, and Udeh.

KJ was "ok".

JW was good not great.

Yes he was.

So was . . .
Fair or unfair, because of his position and the lack of bench, Dajuan's poor play is much more detrimental to the team than probably any other player. We can't cover up for it. We've been able to win when even Jalen's shot and played poorly.

We can't have DH or JW play poorly.

JW hasn't had many poor games. So I think that's mostly a coincidence.

And we can't get zero scoring from KM KJ and Gradey.

Thin margin for error. Bad games quickly turn into blowouts.

And turned the ball over more than usual. This is the point.

A weak spot for the best team in the country.

Most quad 1 wins.

Best coach.

1st team AA.

Your quest to make sure we all think KU is shitty this year is strange. We aren't nearly as bad as you want us to be. And none of the other teams are all that good either.

Purdue. Tennessee. Who else has looked all that good lately? Nobody.

We are a top 10 team. Even with our flaws. When we play well, we are immediately one of the 3 or 4 best teams. But the difference between playing well and getting blown out is small for this team. That's okay.

No.

I thought so at various times this season. We did happen to be ranked #2. So it's not blasphemous to say that.

I think we are a top 8 team. I think we have about as good of a chance to win that national title as any of the other top teams. Vegas seems to agree. We are still one of the favorites. Only 5 teams with better odds.

I don’t.
This team is good but doesn’t have enough scorers.

I agree. But I think you're comparing to what we are used to @ KU and not comparing to what else is out there this season.

Houston
Purdue
Arizona
Alabama
Tennessee

The only teams with better natty odds.

And we just watched bama get clobbered by a mediocre big 12 team. Houston lose to Temple and struggle with other conference teams.

College basketball is crap this season. No elite teams. We could steal another 1. We did last year. You don't have to be the best team to win a natty. Just have to get hot and win 6 straight.

We've had enough years being the "best team" only to have a bad March game and get sent home that we are due to steal a natty or 2 as a team with some flaws who can get hot.
