2022/2023 NBA Season
Re: 2022/2023 NBA Season
Go Suns.
Also can we get a Suns Mavs matchup in the playoffs plz?

Re: 2022/2023 NBA Season
If Steph can't get healthy, that may be just what we get.
The Mavs won last night without Luka. Kyrie looked good. Curious to see how they look together. But if Wade and LeBron can figure it out, then I assume Luka and Kyrie can too.
Re: 2022/2023 NBA Season
Nets colossal fail BUT this KD trade gets them picks and Bridges who is one of the best three and D dudes in the league.

FWIW
Their email that they sent to the "officials" in Atherton specifically stated that their objection was privacy and security based and they were NOT concerned about adding "low-income housing" to the area - as some of the other nearby residents used as an excuse for their initial objections.

New President - New Gutter. I am going to pledge my allegiance to Donald J. Trump and for the next 4 years I am going to be an even bigger asshole than I already am.

Then they should have bought the lot themselves so they controlled what it was used for.RainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 6:36 amFWIW

Not sure why expense ass townhomes would impact their security?

I agree they should have bough the lot - if they knew it was going to turn in to a "development". My guess is they didn't when they bought the home.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 6:49 amThen they should have bought the lot themselves so they controlled what it was used for.RainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 6:36 amFWIW

No one knows for any certainty if the townhomes would/will impact their security but I fully understand their concerns.
On the flip side, with the right security people around - the townhomes could possibly increase the security in regards to the area near the Curry's home.

Re: 2022/2023 NBA Season
I always find it somewhat annoying when extremely rich people get mad about land use/zoning for areas they DON'T own. ESPECIALLY, when said rich people have the money and resources to purchase it themselves. How many people complained? Sounds like multiple. They could have gotten together, purchased the land, and developed it into whatever they wanted.
They're townhomes. Similar land use. Single family homes.
It's not like they are building an industrial building or retail strip center.
End rant.

So you know who wins long term in this Kyrie/Durant/Harden saga?
Houston.
If the Nets get shitty, Houston has 2 of their 1sts in the next 4 years.
And 3 swaps in the next 5.
Basically for 5 years, if the Nets totally collapse, Houston has 5 lotto picks.
Houston should just try and stay shitty and young next season and hope the Nets stink and maybe get lucky and get two picks in the top 5.

Re: 2022/2023 NBA Season
Houston won't have to "try" to do that. They're pretty bad. But their young guards are going to be really good. And their big guy Sengun has looked impressive this year when he gets minutes.pdub wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 7:49 am So you know who wins long term in this Kyrie/Durant/Harden saga?

Durant has always reminded me of Alex Rodriguez. Nearly without peer, from a talent standpoint. And certainly mentally strong in the competitive sense. But incredibly thin-skinned and aloof.

Late night trades are fun.
Illy's CP3 post a little prophetic. CP3 was once one of the most overrated players in NBA history but feel like his hype had really tempered down the last few seasons.
No Suns championship this season and it looks real bad for him.

The suns top 4 is stacked. KD and Monty reunited.
Although Ayton is a malcontent. So maybe they try to move him today? That'd be risky though I suppose.

Ayton is a huge x factor in the suns title hopes. Who knows what his deal is/will beBasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 10:19 am The suns top 4 is stacked. KD and Monty reunited.

Also tj warren might be an underrated piece of that equation
Re: 2022/2023 NBA Season
Warren put up nice per minute numbers off the bench for the Nets. The suns gave up 3 of their good ancillary pieces so they need him to help replace some of that depth.randylahey wrote: ↑Thu Feb 09, 2023 10:52 amAyton is a huge x factor in the suns title hopes. He's still had a fantastic career even if he doesn't get a title.
Likely finishes top 3 all time in assists and steals.
Re: 2022/2023 NBA Season
Sure. He's had a fantastic career. HoF player.
But if he can't steal a title with this team (as their 3rd best player) then that's a huge disappointment.
Also, CP3 is a douche bag. He wasn't always. I really liked him in college and early in his career. But at some point he got rich and weird.

Re: 2022/2023 NBA Season
Teammates generally like him ( not Rondo and Harden who are both crays ).
He led the players association for a long while so he's respected in the league.
Guy is top 15 in career PER which I think is an incredibly valuable stat.
Add that to a 9x defensive 1st team and you have a guy who is top 30 all time.
I'm sure he really wants that ring and it'd certainly help his legacy but I still think Karl Malone, Charles Barkley and Reggie Miller were NBA superstars.

He certainly isn't in my top 30 all time.
Those 30 spots fill up quickly when you sit down and start sticking players in there.
