He can transfer. But chances are he stays. They won't make Final 4 anyway. So he'll play his 12 games, skip the bowl game and prep for NFL draft. Pretty simple.

Mizzou got socked for violations involving a single rogue tutor and a handful of students. They had self reported and cooperated with the NCAA. Major penalties including a bowl ban
North Carolina OTOH had system wide violations involving fraudulent courses and hundreds of students, spread out over 10 years or more, and fought the NCAA every step of the way. They got off almost scot-free
Even as much as I hate Mizzou, and even looking at this through my crimson and blue glasses, the only thing I can say is Mizzou got fucked. Big time.
What it comes down to is money for the NCAA. NCAA makes 95% of their budget off men's basketball. UNC is a blue-blood in that sport and brings in tons of money for the NCAA; Mizzou by comparison is a fart in the wind. So of course UNC gets off and MU gets hosed.
