How many years will Duke have to suck for, so that this sort of thing isn't ESPN front page material.

Duke finishes undefeated at home in Scheyer's first season

https://www.espn.com/mens-college-baske ... rst-season
Duke's Jon Scheyer made history on Tuesday, becoming the first head coach in the ACC to go undefeated at home in his first season.
Why the fuck is this a thing? Are we undefeated this year on days with a low temperature with even numbers? And, if so, has that ever been done before?

I demand answers.

Duke could be a sneaky team in the tournament. They have a talented team.

I will likely have them winning 2 or 3 games in my bracket when it comes out (obviously depending on matchups).

The national coach of the year race is fluid and remains undecided. A reasonable case could be made for Marquette's Shaka Smart, Purdue's Matt Painter, Kansas State's Jerome Tang, Houston's Kelvin Sampson or UCLA's Mick Cronin. But, as I explained during "Inside College Basketball" on Tuesday night, if I had to submit a ballot right now I would put Bill Self's name on it.

What he's doing continues to be incredible…

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Had a lengthy post about his mental health and how if it wasn’t for his support system (family) he probably would be here. My guess is that he did some things that were not good teammate like behaviors and it got him.

Why the fuck did Gonzaga play an out of conference game in March against........powerhouse Chicago State?

Really helping their resume......needed a break from that really demanding, buzz saw of a WCC conference?

A. Chicago State was in the WAC and my guess is they were in the WAC when the game was scheduled. They are now an "independent".
WAC teams MAY be scheduled to play WCC teams due to the proximity of the schools?

B. Wasn't a break from the WCC conference. The Zags were done playing their conference schedule.

C. Can't fault Gonzaga for their out of conference schedule - and the other teams in their conference and what those teams do and don't do. Their SOS is higher than Houston's.

Bonus. FWIW (nothing) Chicago State went undefeated at home. They only played 8 home games.

The Duke story illuminates how bad the ACC is.

Yes, it's pretty bad.

But strangely at the same time Duke is not a team I particularly want to see in the tournament.

Gonzaga beat Alabama on December 17. Setting aside a few games against Diet Gonzaga, that will be the last decent game they will play for over three months. Ridiculous.

FWIW (very little) Gonzaga beat San Francisco twice. I know, big deal but......
San Francisco beat ASU by 37. ASU just beat AZ, AZ beat Tennessee, Tennessee beat KU.

Fuck Mark Few with a pinecone. And fuck the national college basketball media with a pineapple, for continuing to pretend that big fish-small pond program deserves to be in even the second tier.

I believe Gonzaga has the most NCAA tournament wins over the last 10 years.

And yet, perhaps only Purdue has done less with more.
