2022/2023 NBA Season
Re: 2022/2023 NBA Season
Suprising stat o the day:
The Clippers' offensive rating is 117.1 when Westbrook is on the court and 109.6 when he's off.
That's the difference between having the second-best offense in the NBA and the second-worst.

Grizz at Mavs tonight.
No Doncic. No Kyrie. No Morant.
Today's NBA.

The guy is free to be an idiot with his money if he so chooses. Why he is "suspended" is beyond me other than for PR purposes.

Ja wants to be a thug so bad. He's overcompensating for growing up in a middle class 2 parent household and going to a private school.
Re: 2022/2023 NBA Season
can't blame him for that. who doesn't want to live that life.

is his real name Clarence?
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

So much effort and even more fail in your post.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 2:49 pm Ja wants to be a thug so bad. He's overcompensating for growing up in a middle class 2 parent household and going to a private school.
He wouldn't be the first person to be a "thug" that lived in a 2 parent household.
His parents were not "middle class".
What private school did he attend? Let me help you so you don't have to look it up. He didn't attend a private school for grade school nor High School.
Here's an FYI... 100% of the students at Crestwood (the High School he attended) are considered "economically disadvantaged".

Re: 2022/2023 NBA Season
I shouldn't have been so harsh.
Obviously there is lower middle class, middle-middle class, and upper middle class.
Perhaps the Morants could/should have been considered "middle class". Wrong of me to assume anything Illi may have been implying.
The private school thing is laughable.

So is Crestwood a public school?
"Located approximately 6 miles north of the city of Sumter on Oswego Road, Crestwood High opened its doors in August 1996. Serving 1,166 students in grades 9-12, CHS draws from fifteen different rural communities including Alcolu, Borden, Dalzell, Gable, Lynchburg, Olanta, Mayesville, Rembert, St. John, Oswego, Shilo, Sumter, and Shaw Air Force Base. Three middle schools – Ebenezer, Hillcrest and Mayewood – are Crestwood’s feeder schools. This year there are 304 ninth grade students, 322 tenth grade students, 291 eleventh grade students and 249 twelfth grade students. The attendance area for Crestwood is very diverse, including rural areas, suburbs, and Shaw Air Force Base. Because of this widespread area, many of our students travel 20 miles to reach the school. Crestwood High students are transported by bus or by car beginning at approximately 6:30 A.M. daily. Sumter, nestled in the heart of the state, is the seat of Sumter County. Sumter lies 45 miles east of Columbia, the state capital. Offering major industries of manufacturing, military and medical, Sumter is proud to be the home of Swan Lake Iris Gardens and Shaw Air Force Base (Shaw AFB). Swan Lake Iris Gardens is the only public park in the United States with all eight known species of swans and multiple varieties of Japanese Iris. The Iris Festival, held every May at Swan Lake Iris Gardens, is a multiple winner of the “Top 20 Events in the Southeast” Award. Shaw AFB, headquarters to the 9th Air Force and the 20th Fighter Wing, is one of the largest bases in the United States Air Force. Staff and curriculum are important elements of any educational system or institution.
The staff of Crestwood High includes dedicated, competent professionals who provide subject-area content expertise, guidance, and leadership to students thereby enhancing wellroundedness, competency, and responsibility as a way of life. To meet the needs of our varied stakeholders, we offer a wide range of courses to prepare students for life after high school, whether they are making the transition into higher education or directly into the workforce. The curriculum consists of the core academic subjects such as English, mathematics, science, and social studies. Additional courses include career and technology, modern language, physical education, fine arts, and ROTC. In addition to course offerings, we provide career guidance, special tutorials, and a variety of co-curricular activities to enhance the Crestwood experience for our students. Qualified junior and senior students are offered the opportunity to participate in dual enrollment courses on our campus through the University of South Carolina-Sumter and Central Carolina Technical College giving the students the opportunity to graduate from high school having already earned college credits."
Ja Morant is not a thug. He didn't grow up in the hood doing hood things.

Re: 2022/2023 NBA Season
…Perhaps all of this is simply in Ja’s DNA. He spent his childhood in South Carolina and soon dominated by playing basketball for Crestwood high school, which was a public school. By the time he graduated, Morant was the leading scorer in the history of the institution. The unreal athleticism and talent that we are witnessing today are due to the long hours he spent training in his backyard with his father Tee Morant…

"Ja Morant is not a thug. He didn't grow up in the hood doing hood things".
A. Not saying Ja is a "thug" but people change. Clearly he was embracing the thug image.
B. He didn't grow up in the hood but for all you and I know he could have hung out in the "hood" of Columbia.
C. What are "hood" things? My guess (like your guess) is he wasn't a gang banger.
Hey, I apologize for my harsh post but let's both be honest. Neither of us really know jack shit about Ja Morant other than what we have read/heard - true or not.

I think Ja Morant is a fake thug. If I misclassfied his HS as private when it's not, I apologize. It doesn't change anything about his current troubles.
