I don't think the free transfer thing is great for the game, but it's the sort of blunt instrument that is necessary when you don't really let the players contract freely. At a minimum, I think any player who doesn't have a guaranteed scholarship should be permitted to transfer freely, and that should also be the case in connection with coaching changes or postseason bans.hasbeen wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 12:32 pm I've avoided the NCAA thread for the most part because it just seems like the most unfun place online, but I think at a certain point they're going to have to get the portal under control. The money doesn't bother me near as much, primarily from the perspective that a lot of these kids are not guaranteed anything at the next level and should be compensated for what they bring to the University and community. But yeah, one free transfer per, please.

They should. But let’s not pretend they don’t get a lot of shit handed to them ‘regular’ students do not. I’m still undecided if NIL and the portal is good or not, overall. I think there are definite good and bad things. I really don’t care though. I just want KU teams to be good.

Maybe we should just pin one of the threads with this same exact argument so we don't have to rehash it in every thread
