I wish that were true but I've seen hundreds of posts of people saying "everyone should turn in their guns so we can do something"
A lot of people are naive enough to think we can magically make guns disappear

Before the sun sets today, you'll see people cravenly turn this tragedy into an opportunity to target the freedoms of only an "undesirable" segment of our society.

i do believe that no person outside the active military should be allowed to own one of those guns that can shoot a hundred rounds in a minute.

What freedoms do trans people not have? What rights do others have that they don't

I think we should try identifying the problem first. Guns have always been around in this country... mass shootings became a more prevalent thing around the turn of the century. What changes were happening in our society that has suddenly started creating all these psychopathic desires

I'll just drop a pin in this one. You can smell out the bad faith a goddamn mile away:

* rubes will do anything to blame gun violence on anything but guns
* "it's a mental health issue, not a gun issue"
* libs LOVE background checks!
* people with mental health issues shouldn't be allowed to have guns
* a trans person just used guns to kill kids
* I don't care about trans people
* Trans people must be mentally ill

Bada bing, bada boom:

Trans people shouldn't be allowed to own guns.

The connective tissue is building on both sides, toward that inevitable bad-faith "conclusion".

So, you're saying that maybe the founding fathers didn't have all of this in mind?

A person could just as easily mow down a crowd with a runaway vehicle and kill hundreds too. Guns are a tool, not a root cause of the evil

It's a way to protect myself (and others) from getting shot. Is it not?
Broken record time......
I saw my best friend laying dead with his body bullet ridden. I promise you if the person who shot him didn't have a gun, he wouldn't have been shot. Do I think the person who shot him may have tried to use a different weapon to kill him? Perhaps but my being naive or not, I probably would have liked his chances of survival better if that person didn't have a gun.

I have not ignored it at all. I'm over here predicting the future: one of your shit shovelers will be out there, if they're not already, using this tragedy to say that gender dysphoria is a mental illness that should be disqualifying for gun ownership.

Is that a serious question? If you really fucking care (and I know you don't) then perhaps you should spend some time asking and talking to a Trans person.
I'll start off with a simple answer to your question. The freedom to exist without some assholes ridiculing them because they are "different".

Not one person on this planet has that freedom. Everyone gets ridiculed. And its not a freedom. Try again
