I think Rodgers has become more and more a head case. A real risk that has Jets written all over it.

I think he'll be better than last season but not a top 5 quarterback.
If he's, say, 10th best, is that good enough for the Jets to win the AFC East?
Dunno 'bout that.

The issue would be if he's just good enough to clear that 65% of snaps but not good enough to win the AFC East, is a wildcard team that has to go on the road to someone like the Bengals, Bills, Chiefs, Jaguars and then looses first round.

Now you don't have your 20ish overall pick and have to sweat bullets that Rodgers won't be one and done.

"Ravens signed QB Lamar Jackson to a five-year extension.
CBS' Josina Anderson reports the deal is worth $260 million, putting Jackson just ahead of Jalen Hurts."

I guess you gotta? I might have less faith at this point in Lamar than Hurts.
We'll see on the guarantees.

Chiefs signed Jerick McKinnon, as expected.

CEHs option declined which wasn’t as expected. That saves them something under one million which I think CEH was probably worth…but we will see this next season.

Chiefs sign former Bucs LT Donovan Smith.

Wonder if he will start.
From what I hear, yes, and Taylor at his natural RT position.

My guess is they ride with highly penalized Smith at LT but shift as much help over that direction and Taylor will never have help.

Smith is a great get at $4m base. He was injured and bad last year, but has had some excellent seasons as a pass blocker. Guessing they line up Smith at LT and Taylor at RT and roll with that unless Smith looks lost. OL depth is looking really good now.

OT: Taylor, Smith, Niang, Morris
IOL: Humphrey, Thuney, Smith, Allegretti, Reiter

Probably one of Kinnard/Caliendo/Wanogho as the 10th guy.

Good time of the year to watch an early morning game.
Get a fire going, cook an European style breakfast and watch Tyreek Hill get jacked by Sneed on the Dolphins first play.

It will be interesting if that Chiefs/Bengals game decides home field through the playoffs.

It's definitely bad of my character to hope he gets lit up and then cannot play for the rest of the game, right?

Not one bit, no. I would laugh, assuming that I don't have him on my fantasy team.

(absurdly over-sized) contracts discussion

Yeah Mrs. Newton won't be thrilled about a Christmas Chiefs game. But it's against the Raiders so it won't be much of a game. :)

He requested a trade, I believe.

Cut salary too.
