Excellent post.

Feel free to pass that on to the cultists in your tribe.

To say they're ardent, is an understatement.

Annie has a category of tattoos she calls, "job stoppers". It's those neck and face tattoos that don't show up on a job application but are obvious when you come into the shop to interview. You are of course free to put what ever you want on your body. But if the stupid is visible to clients, then you probably would not be getting the job in her sheet metal shop.

Part of me wants this to be true.

If, for no other reason, it pulls the curtain open for the millions that the Trump family scooped up.

Which brings us to one of the most infuriating logic fuckturdbombs in the whole thing.

Rubes will counter that it's fundamentally different, because the Trump Organization is a successful, established, multi-billion-dollar business enterprise.

And of course: not only is the Trump Organization literally being litigated out of existence in New York for financial crimes including overstatement of its "success"...it seems at least more likely than not that the Trump Organization rebounded from its near-death a few decades ago by, in addition to domestic grifts, becoming a big laundry machine for foreign criminal money.

Now, the "who knew what and when" of that is an open question. But what's clear is that the only business thing at which the Trump Organization is provably good, is falsely convincing people of its own success.

Seems strange that FoxNews hasn't picked that up yet and that it's only the "Epoch Times" running it.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

was listening to an interview over lunch with an historian who specializes in the rise of fascism in Italy in the 1920s

some scary parallels with the leveraging of “state” power to control school curricula and social norms, often in direct conflict with the opinions of experts/professionals

I misread it as 1492, on first glance.

I get that fascists need to stick together, but why, on a day that should be all about him, is DeFascist willing to share the spotlight with Leon? Considering how socially awkward he is, maybe Bootsie feels better not making the announcement alone, but Musk, if anything, is more awkward than he is. Of course, maybe that's it-he'll look like candidate congeniality next to Leon? I take it all back, because,

brilliant!
