I was looking for a less generalized more intelligent response. Too much to ask for I suppose.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: Uncle Joe
Soooo, no receipts.
Jack Smith brought receipts.Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) revealed Monday that a tip the FBI received in 2020 said a foreign national had recordings of himself discussing a $5 million payment to Biden when he was vice president.
The audio purported to be a compelling new detail about the FBI tip, which Republicans have demanded be made public since learning of it last month.
At the same time, the uncertainty over whether the recordings actually exist is a reminder that while the tip came from a credible career informant, the informant’s source is someone else, and the underlying information, audio and all, remains unverified hearsay.
Speaking about the recordings on Newsmax Tuesday, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-Ky.) said lawmakers “don’t know if they’re legit or not, but we know that the foreign national claims he has them.”
The allegation that Biden was caught on tape has seemingly forced Republicans to remind an eager conservative media that the allegations might be untrue.
“We don’t know for sure if these tapes exist,” Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) said on “The Chris Salcedo Show” Wednesday when asked if Republicans would consider impeaching the president.
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) suggested on a program called “The Conservative Circus” that not only might the tapes not exist, but also that the foreign national who spoke to the FBI informant might lack credibility. (Some Republicans on the Oversight Committee have said the source is former Burisma executive Mykola Zlochevksy, a fugitive Ukrainian oligarch.)
“We don’t know really if the tapes exist, we just don’t know that, whether this was just a bluff on the part of, whoever the executive was, I think it was Mykola Zlochevsky, the CEO of the... the corrupt oligarch,” Johnson said.

Sorta delicious how the pubs seem intent on wasting control of the House. Just a showcase of incompetence.

Seems like the most common comment on twitter underneath this story is people saying: Now do airlines". But the list is long.
Excuse my naïveté but, so the profit on the resale would be taxable?jfish26 wrote:I’m not at all saying I’d support this, but just talking.
If you REALLY want to do something pro-consumer, in the ticket space, what you’d do is issue a determination that tickets bought for the purpose of reselling are securities.

If we’re gonna have such a determination about tickets bought for the purpose of reselling, let’s do landlords next

No, it already (technically) is.Feral wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2023 5:03 pmSeems like the most common comment on twitter underneath this story is people saying: Now do airlines". But the list is long.

But if the tickets were securities (just like stocks), then the SEC would have jurisdiction to regulate (and there would be lots of disclosure requirements, etc.).
Like I said - not at all advocating for this. Just something interesting to think about.

Thanks, Joe, Josh, and Pete:
A section of Interstate 95 in Philadelphia that collapsed last weekend after the fiery crash of a gasoline tanker truck will reopen to traffic in the next two weeks, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro said Saturday after joining President Biden on a helicopter tour of the vital East Coast artery.
“We are going to get traffic moving again, thanks to the extraordinary work that is going on here,” Shapiro (D) said during remarks at Philadelphia International Airport after the flyover, which included members of Pennsylvania’s congressional delegation and the city’s mayor. “We will have I-95 reopened within the next two weeks.”
Biden said the federal government would fully reimburse the state for the first phase of the reconstruction, then contribute 90 percent of the cost after that.
“There’s no more important project to the country right now as far as I’m concerned,” the president said, noting that the work crews are unionized. “The people of Philadelphia, I want to say that we’re with you. We’re going to stay with you” until the work has been finished.
...The rebuilding of the overpass will be expedited with the use of 2,000 tons of lightweight nuggets of recycled glass that Pennsylvania officials announced they would bring to the site in the coming days to fill in the collapsed area. The glass will be piled in the void to bring it to surface level, clearing the way for construction crews to repave the road relatively quickly.
A permanent replacement bridge is expected to be built next to it so traffic can be rerouted while the exit ramp is rebuilt, officials said. Completing that work is expected to take months.

Can someone who is semi intelligent please explain to me (like I am 5 years old) why labor union workers would be pro Trump and anti Biden?

If I knew the answer to that, I'd know why blue collar and union workers would be pro Trump and anti Biden.RainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Sat Jun 17, 2023 6:03 pm Can someone who is semi intelligent please explain to me (like I am 5 years old) why evangelical and other "Christians" would be pro Trump and anti Biden?
