I mean who was on here trying to act like biden is doing a good job with the economy?
Cost of living through the roof. Energy prices sky high, inflation of food and necessities has prices sky high, interest rates on home loans etc and fucking ridiculous right now
A few years ago we didn't have any of those problems

So you, as a libertarian, want the president to have the power to manipulate the market value of goods and services?

I'm not smart. Your post helps reassure me I'm not the only dumb person on the board/s.
Two questions.
1. Do you honestly not understand why some people would be stupid NOT to support Biden?
2. Are you aware you are guilty of projecting and being a hypocrite?

Re: Uncle Joe
Most union workers are pro-Biden. Some in dead industries that Trump was bought off by, like coal, are hoping for a pony.
Re: Uncle Joe
this is just completely untrue.
Most union leadership is pro Biden.
But most union members are absolutely not pro Biden.
I say that as a person who was involved with unions and union labor for 18ish years.

In the midwest. Coming from large states in the east, I can tell you you are wrong, but the number is much closer than it should be. But no worker should be pro-Trump unless they want to not get paid for services rendered. That is his jam.

Re: Uncle Joe
I assumed union workers had shifted Republican because of the move to the right in the rust belt. But apparently majority of union households still voted Biden, according to this exit poll:

Re: Uncle Joe
Although with the closures of TWA and its maintenance base at KCI, Braniff, Worldspan, Continental/Interstate Bakeries, etc., etc., in KC back in the '90s the number of union workers I had as patients declined, there were still plenty who worked at the Ford and GM plants. Back then and into the '00s I would have said they were definitely majority democratic, but I'm not sure how the ascendence of the twice-impeached racist Birther who's been indicted for 71 felonies impacted that.Sparko wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 12:10 pmIn the midwest. Re: Uncle Joe
Ive worked with lots and lots and lots of unions in the Midwest and west. And done a ton of contract work with traveling Ironworkers from New York and Philadelphia. The Biden supporters are few and far between.Sparko wrote: ↑Mon Jun 19, 2023 12:10 pmIn the midwest. I know there are lots of unions....but....the trades unions....electricians, ironworkers, plumbers, tinbenders, carpenters, laborers, teamsters, operators etc all lean heavily away from Biden. At least west of the Mississippi.

Re: Uncle Joe
A lot of good responses to my question. Thank you!
Reason why I asked was that someone who is "in" politics vaguely told me that many if not most union leaders are very happy with Biden. Some/many feel union wise, Biden is probably the best President they/we have had. Then the person I was speaking with said many if not most of the union workers are pro-Trump. I didn't ask him to elaborate his thoughts/feelings on why that is.
I can't help but wonder how much (if at all) the union leaders try to explain and stress to the union workers why Biden is better for them as union workers.
On another note... I had a brief conversation with my sister yesterday in regards to what is the most important overall factor for voters in voting for a President. I said it has to be $ - meaning a person's $/finances . My sister said she believes for a lot (not most - a lot) of people the #1 factor is morals.
I'll say it. $ wise I was better off with Trump as MY President. Yes, I understand a President has only so much to do with the economy and there are other factors the President does not control.
We also discussed the role/s Congress play/s and that many people don't understand Congress is as responsible (if not more responsible) for their daily lives as the President is.
Which brings me to my questions.
What percentage of people who will vote for Trump in 2024 are voting for him 100% based on his "policies"?
What percentage of people who will vote for Trump in 2024 are voting for him primarily because he's the Republican candidate?
What percentage of people who will vote for trump in 2024 are voting for him because they are FAKE White Christians and feel Trump is the better choice for what they want and believe in as FAKE White Christians?
What percentage of people who will vote for Trump in 2024 are voting for him because they look at the election as not much more than a popularity contest and they are brainwashed idiots?
Last question......
How fucking sad of a statement is it that the Dems have to run an 80/81 year old guy who has shown signs of diminished mental ability and who reluctantly ran for President 4 years earlier because there is/was no one else the Dems feel can/could get elected over Trump?

Re: Uncle Joe
Anybody voting for trump at this point is only doing so because A. hes a republican or B. hes not Joe Biden
he has no policy to vote for or against...he just lathers himself into a frothy mouthed frenzy and whips up his people into a fever with lies and hate.
You might like what he says or hate what he says....he doesn't care. His only policy is protecting himself and making himself richer. He has no governmental policies or stances.

Re: Uncle Joe
i actually think the majority of trump’s fervent followers would continue to support him if he ran as a 3rd party candidate, regardless of who the dem nominee is…i’d guess that would be ~30% of registered pubs
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
