I don't see that anyone has posted about the cyberattack in progress:

drove across northern Nevada a couple times the last 3 days. Pretty pretty country, rugged, and sparse. But pretty in an ugly and rough sorta way.

Everytime I drive through this area it makes me wonder what it kist of been like for the first settlers to try and cross that terrain. Must have seemed like Mars. What a strange and incredibly tough trek that mustve been. zsame could be said about many places across the west.

soo

We jammed with the high school chick.

the other band mates don’t get me when I say I’m hesitant to be in a band with a high school chick.

“But she has a good voice!”

Yes, I agree!

But, come on you guys, this hesitation isn’t totally random here

I won't even ride elevators.....not kidding. I would (and have) trek up 15+ flights of stairs to a room before id get in a goddamn elevator.

Im claustrophobic.....I dont like having 0 control (also why I hate planes)...and....Ive been involved in building many many elevator shafts (they are heavily inspected yea yea...equipped with multiple back up safeties.. yea yea...)

My sister, however, went down in Alvin, the research submersible. she said it was incredible.....an amazing experience.....and that she'd never do it again.

Yeah, no thanks. You would have to pay ME 100s of thousands and even then I would probably say nope, not going to do it.
Watch the video. I hope the very end is a joke. If it's not, I would have to challenge a person's sanity to CHOOSE and PAY A LOT OF MONEY to take a/the journey in it.

Am I a weak person because I stopped before the end?

1. pdub should reach out to TheJosh who shows great potential as a member here.

2. I'm resisting the urge to ponder too much how you happened to be reading that thread. (I assume someone pointed you to it like you did us...)

3. Tdub, I hear you. While trying to make $$ working as a framer between my 1st & 2nd years of med school, I used to walk the outside wall (on a 2 x 4") of 2 & 3-story apt buildings under construction on one end of 2 x 10 ceiling joists as we laid them out, but there's no way in hell I'd do it today--I be dead in no time. Even then, when I could do that, and much more so now, if you put me at the edge of a tall building or canyon looking down into the abys, it feels like there's a force pulling me forward- it really does, it's very weird, 'cause I know it's all in my mind. But elevators and flying don't bother me much.

I saw a link to that thread in a tweet. I assure you that I have no presence in the online bodybuilding community.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

heights dont bother me much, confined spaces do.

but...I also feel the pull when looking off a cliff or into a canyon.

I think there's a name for that phenomenon. It takes presence to resist the urge to leap off the edge and only the knowledge of the outcome stops people from falling off the edge.

Interesting. And thanks for saving me trying to look it up.
