I’m all alone and without that united front our plan has collapsed.

Cross country with two toddlers. Haven’t booked a place to stay. Have no idea what we will do with them during all the events they can’t go to.

Heaven help us all.

Found a steal of a deal that will work that’s somehow available. Others on the group think it’s too far from LA. I have zero interest in LA.

So likely what will happen now is that you ll stop suggesting things and let them figure it out, we will late too long, and our airbnb will be 800 dollars a night.

I can top that. My mother passed away two weeks ago and I found out my sisters had let her funeral insurance lapse. Cost me $7K to ensure all was paid for. My mom insisted on a casket and no cremation owing to religios reasons. Sigh. I would so have preferred to donate the money to a living person in need. My mom was really succumbing to dementia and was a lifetime smoker at 88 years old. So, it was expected more than tragic. Indeed, I have always said death becomes less tragic every day you survive. Anyway, PDub, the kids are more important than any wedding drama. Show for the minimum and take them touring.

My mild drama takes a back seat to Sparkos.
Sorry Sparko - my rents are getting past the average lifespan age and it's back of my mind dreadful.

This deal i'm describing is more to get some yucks on the Satellite bored.

I'm going through some "stuff " at the moment. I'll post in detail when I have a minute. The next 2 weeks are not going to be pleasant.

ETA post all the yucks you want, I could use one or two.

Yea, sorry sparko, that’s a bummer. Loosing loved ones sucks, but sounds like you were the bigger person about it all

I've lost all respect for yr BIL.

But I have to say, the must-read factor in this story is going up!

Appreciate the concern. I went here with it to keep it off the mains. The BIL issue is kind of similar to my situation with my older sister. I was supposed to write mom's obituary and she purposely beat me to the punch by a day. And wouldn't let my sister and family speak at the funeral. It was a crazy control thing. Sparko got the last word and printed his three page obit on mom anyway. Same day as my older sister's tiny obit ran. Kind of awesome. My mom deserved some bragging and so did my father in that context--though he died 38 years earlier. My sister basically wrote him out of our lives. Wrong answer.

I can relate, more than I'd feel comfy describing. The mantra is "nothing is more important than family". In some respects, that's true, I suppose.

But not in every respect and not for everyone. Not by a long shot.

I'm glad you did what you had to, in order to properly pay your respect. Wish I could say the same.

Again, best wishes.

add flames

or a roller-coaster
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Code: Select all

let totalFlames = [];

const addFlames = ( amt=100 )=>{
  for(let i = 0; i < amt; i++) {
    let myFlame = new Flame(i);
    totalFlames.push(myFlame);
  }
}

addFlames(Infinity);
