Biden is a perfect example of why we need to steer this country away from career politicians. And began drastically minimizing the power of the the federal government in general, especially intelligence agencies life the fbi, doj, etc
Re: Uncle Joe
Biden's success must be pretty scary.

1. What is YOUR definition of a "career politician"?
2. What power/s does the federal government have over YOU that YOU are opposed to?
3. Why do you feel the USA needs to "drastically minimize" the power of the FBI and DOJ?

Not all politicians are paid off. There are some good honest ones on both sides. But the way the left functions, it's especially hard to be that way on the left side and continue to get funding. If you don't do everything they say and vote in unison with the democratic block, the soros of the world cut your funding for reelection

Anyone willing to take a quick honest look at Biden knows he reeks of corruption. He's the epitome of a filthy rich politician who's benefitted from a life of service in the corrupt political state
Re: Uncle Joe
We can say that about Trump over the last six years, too, right?
Re: Uncle Joe
You do not have - and despite years and years and years of investigating, no one seems to have - any objective, factual evidence of Biden's corruption. Crayon drawings on napkins connecting dots, even with SCARY WORD narration, doesn't get you there.randylahey wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 10:31 amIt's fine to agree with people you don't don't always. Again: either Biden is too old, doddering and senile to be president of his nursing home (let alone the USA), OR he is the craftiest criminal mastermind in modern history.
Or - and this is what's true - he's neither.
Re: Uncle Joe
So what you're saying is that government should NOT care what's between people's legs, or what they do with what's between their legs. And that government should NOT align with the principles or teachings of any particular religious creed, sect or denomination. And that government should NOT hold private business subject to First Amendment restrictions on what the government can and can't do.randylahey wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2023 10:20 pm Biden is a perfect example of why we need to steer this country away from career politicians. And so on.

The problem isn’t a partisan one, so much as it is systemic.

My opinion/s without really giving it any thought.....
1. There are current politicians who I feel should absolutely step down. Their wealth having little to do with my feelings but I get your sentiment.
Now here is where I am torn. I feel there have been some excellent politicians who were unfortunately not re-elected and we have some politicians who are piece of shit human beings that very well may serve long terms in Congress.
There lies what I feel is a major example of the blessing/s and curse/s of our "democracy".
2a. Here is my attitude regarding taxes. I don't like paying the government what I feel is a ridiculous amount of my EARNED money in taxes. I don't like paying the government what I feel is a ridiculous amount of my money that my "investments" have earned.
That being said, I feel taxes are necessary and I am actually happy that SOME of my tax money goes to good/positive things for our country and its citizens.
2b. I don't love that the government "monitors" me and my behavior/s but I prefer the government has access and monitors ILLEGAL behavior and activity - if they do something about it - than if the government didn't have "access" and monitor "information".
3. I agree with you (and hope everyone else does too) in feeling it's wrong that the FBI and DOJ are "being weaponized for political agenda". I don't know who's best interests they have in regards to all things but I sure as heck would prefer to have an honest and competent FBI and DOJ than not have those agencies/departments exist. Ok, so here lies the major dilemma. How do we get to the point where EVERYONE in this country respects, appreciates, and trusts the FBI and DOJ? Maybe we should concentrate on that more than trying to figure out how to abolish them.

This shit is exhausting. As usual,* what's happening is that the wannabe autocrats (and their rube fundraising base) want to do everything about a problem EXCEPT the most logical/efficient things.ousdahl wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 11:47 amExactly.defixione wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 9:15 amSo everyone in Congress is paid off? The problem isn’t a partisan one, so much as it is systemic.
Want to clean up "corruption" in politics? Start with (1) legislating Citizens United and its progeny our of existence. And then (2) strengthen - definitely DO NOT WEAKEN - protections on voting rights.
But of course the wannabe autocrats NEED Citizens United. And they do not want to protect voting rights (because their policies are deeply unpopular, and getting even less popular).
* Same thing on gun violence. Which they blame on literally everything except the guns themselves.
