Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: Uncle Joe

This is more or less where I’m at.
Sorting out how their sons’ problems (or apparent problems) should affect the Biden and Trump candidacies is really squishy; tough to pin down.
So I’m not willing to go off anything we don’t KNOW, and I’m not willing to extend the sons’ problems to their fathers’ candidacies, except for how and where we KNOW there is a relationship.

having a loser son isn’t even on the list of reasons.
Re: Uncle Joe
So what is it that you feel we need to know about Hunter Biden? Why is he so uniquely important that we have to care about the fact that he is a drug addict and has been a hot mess at points in his past? Is he currently meeting with foreign leaders in the White House like Ivanka?
Hunter Biden is irrelevant and has always been irrelevant as it relates to the matters of our nation. He has no bearing on anything that is happening that matters; he's just the kid of the current President and wasting time addressing his past just means that the GOP has no plan for the future that is worth talking about.
And it's not that I don't care because his Dad is a Dem. It's that I don't care because nothing that has anything to do with him matters in what matters to me. He and his sordid past changes nothing.
Re: Uncle Joe
I'm a lot of the way with you here, but I'd actually go a step further. Maybe Trump is an unconditional love, empathetic guy in private. And kudos to him if so.twocoach wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 9:55 amSo what is it that you feel we need to know about Hunter Biden? But, as someone with family addiction issues not far from home, I recognize an overwhelming genuineness and wisdom in Biden (vis a vis Hunter) that I have not seen from Trump (vis a vis Jr.).
Re: Uncle Joe
Well said, two coach. Every time I hear or see the next Hunter Biden existential threat to western civilization and all that's holy hit the news, for a second I feel a reflexive "WTF now?", and my next thought is, whoTF cares?jfish26 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 03, 2023 10:05 amI'm a lot of the way with you here, but I'd actually go a step further. Oh yeah, it's the same people who go after every other marginalized or vulnerable person in America to enrage and motivate their ba$e, that isn't likely to vote for them or help advance their "no plan for the future that is worth talking about" hate and grievance agenda unless it's tax cuts for the rich, again.
A younger close relative of mine who had been clean for 10 years contacted me this weekend needing money, just like the old days before we managed to bring him back from the abyss, so here we go, again.

c’mon, DC…an unsolicited response to Feral but not 2coach, who actually quoted and asked you directly?

Re: Uncle Joe
twocoach, as always, missed the point by a mile.
As did you, BTW.
Hint: My OP wasn't about Hunter at all.

You have a point there, twocoach
