Oh we’ve been trying alright.

The answer to this argument is always, "Yeah, but when you break things down on a per capita basis, the United States is still worse than China!"

no

it doesn’t make the US worse, it means that the average ‘murican consumes more

failing is still failing, but both india and germany are failing worse than china

the US is 14th in CO2 reduction…but i guess we’re better than china, right guys?!?!

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

No, what it means is that China needs to get their crap together and that we are not the primary problem.

Very open world question ( disregarding what you think about population control ):

If you had a BBQ cookout and invited 10 people but realized you only bought 10 buns and 7 people each had 1 bun but an 8th had 3 would the 7 people, since they took more buns as a unit than the 1 unit that took 3, be more to blame that there weren’t enough buns at the cookout for the other 2?

Are some people adding an average of 2 NEW coal plants PER WEEK to their BBQ capacity over the last several years?

People like that scare me. Do they really want the government to have the ability to shut off their power at the push of a button? Or even to be able to tell them that they can't set their own thermostat?

I already don't trust the local energy provider in Michigan. After our area went without electricity for 9 days in the middle of last Winter, I spent $13K on a whole house propane generator because I'll be damned if I'm going to sit in the cold and dark for almost two weeks because someone sitting in a warm, lighted home decides if/when I get my power back.

Sadly, we are in the "You fucked up. You trusted us" phase of extinction. All that is left is the "Eat Me" Parade Cake Float and disintegrating violence. But they were warning us of the Venus effect in the 1960s.
