I think it’ll come down less to the merits/batshittery of the arguments and more whether there’s at least one magahead on the jury.

Cuz all it’ll take is one juror who’s ready to embrace any and every defense Trump offers, no matter how batshitty

Yes. And the jury instructions will have a LOT of weight there.

How much will instructions matter, even?

(If it’s a matter of magaheads gonna magahead…)

Jury selection might matter more

ETA but a magahead who is able to answer selection questions like “I will objectively apply the law to the facts presented” then turn around come deliberations all like “but it’s just another partisan witch-hunt #maga” is prob asking a lot from a magahead

To grossly simplify, take these two questions:

Who won the 2020 presidential election?

What was the final, certified Electoral College vote count in the 2020 presidential election?

For about 5-6 years beginning in 2005, a personal friend of my wife's was our financial advisor/broker. I knew she was a republican when we hired her, but aren't republicans supposed to be the ones who know business, and know money because, that's all that seems to matter to them? And, I was trying to be broadminded... Around 2011 my wife was talking to her about something and MLK came up, and the advisor said, "Oh, that guy who caused all that trouble?". She was from rKansas so, what did I expect. So for that a several other reasons I'll spare you, I finally put my foot down and told my wife we had to move on from her friend.

My current advisor regularly reminds me that when we first met in 2012 before knowing anything about each other I asked him at the beginning of the conversation: "Do you believe Barack Obama was born in America?"

When he answered "yes", we had a deal.

A few months ago I asked someone I was considering hiring for another potential long-term professional relationship: "Who do you think won the 2020 presidential election?"

She replied "Biden", and we had a deal.

That was brutal, 99,

Can you post a warning before refuting something so thoroughly in the future?

Tick...tick...tick...

Rusty Bowers, a former top Republican official in Arizona who rejected pressure from Donald Trump and his allies following the former president's 2020 election defeat, told CNN that he has spoken with the FBI as part of the ongoing criminal investigation into efforts to overturn the vote.

There is simply no question any trial of this action during the pendency of a Presidential election will impact both the outcome of that election and, importantly, the ability of the Defendants to obtain a fair trial…Previously scheduled trials in other matters for both President Trump and defense council make it nearly impossible to prepare for this trial by December 2023.

tough fucking shit…maybe don’t commit so many crimes? then, you won’t have as many for which to be held account
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

"It's annoying that attempting to hold me accountable for what I have done might impact the future things that I want to do."

Let's see someone try to pull off "Sorry, but I don't want my murder trial to start for a few years. I have this really important job interview new month" and see if they get treated as nicely as the courts are treating Trump.

A delay on these grounds would pretty much mean that "I'm a candidate for office" is an effective defense for anyone a court may favor.

Personally, I would like to read his tweets while in court. That would be special.
