Negativity is what you bring...just like with Braun 2.0...I would think you would be better suited on the football board and put out your diatribe of how you are smarter than the coaching staffs and they don't/aren't given a chance to change your mind. Karen...Nope...We are back to Negative Nancy. Stuff happens...like Och to redshirt...it didn't happen...Self recognized....made it work...I trust in Bill. Period.
Calm down Karen. Negativity is thinking arterio Morris isn't gonna be ready to make a big impact. The dude is a stud. McDonald's all American 5 Star recruit, #1 point guard in his class. Lightning quick. And already has a year experience playing in the big 12.

He's going to be hard to beat out. Assuming a freshman is ready to do it is wild

And you guys used "arterio Morris struggled his freshman year at Texas" as the logic for why elmarko will be better as a freshman???? Lolll. Do you not realize elmarko will have freshman struggles himself.

Think of how bad guys like Mario Chalmers or Josh Selby were early in their freshman year. They were both higher rated recruits than elmarko

I love elmarkos talent. I think he is going to be an absolute stud. He has great tools, and from what we can see a great attitude and work ethic. But stop expecting it to happen instantly. We go through this every season with freshman expectations

Your Dumb ass would

Virtually identical prospects coming out of high school. One has a year experience playing in the big 12. And one is fresh out of high school
one is on campus, practicing with the team absorbing the culture and building chemistry......

one is still in Texas dealing with legal issues and, from the sounds off it, may not make it to campus until after the season starts.
I didn't ignore this. Your logic makes a lot of sense. My previous comment wasn't directed at you. I'm hoping his legal issues don't linger

Yeah it was me. What 5 star non-wing guards has Self had? Chalmers, Selby, Dotson. Selby was unable to practice early because of injury. Chalmers and Dotson were decent and played a ton. So let's set that as the expected value for Jackson.

Morris we know more about, and he was very disappointing. More turnovers than assists.

So guy who wasn't good has a lower expected value.

Might as well throw Bryce Thompson and Quentin grimes in there too. They both played the 2, which is what elmarko will play as a freshman if he hopes to have much of a role. Cause we know dajuan is playing 35 a game at the 1

I think that's where the discrepancy is, if you're finding it hard to grasp.

Mj does not think Arterio is for sure better because he doesn't think he's a very good player to begin with -- or rather, isn't good enough to just guarantee a locked starting spot.

4.6 PPG, 1.4 RPG, .5 APG, .6 TO/PG, 41% FG, 33% 3FG.
Not eye popping.

add to that TDub’s point of him not having set foot on campus yet

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Nor do I necessarily think Jackson is. But if we talk in terms of video game ratings of players, I expect Morris to be around a 70-75, and Jackson to be around 68-79. Jackson having the wider range because we have never seen him play college ball.

There's a reason Jackson is showing up on some mock drafts for next year and Morris is not.

My guess would be Elmarko overtakes Morris, by a bit, by season end, i.e. they both will end up with double digit MPG.

Mock drafts mean nothing. And even if the mock drafts were right, getting drafted means you have higher pro potential, doesn't mean you are better in college

I do think elmarko might have the highest pro upside our whole team. I love his talent. And what ive heard about his work ethic

I'm just saying be patient with elmarko. He's going to go through the freshman adjustment just like every one else. But there are older players who are also talented that will most likely be ahead of him to start

I'll wager 10 crimbucks that Elmarko will have more MPG in 2024 than Morris will.

Lol. I'd consider that after a first look at a exhibition game, and some more clarity at his legal situation

I'm really high on elmarko. Don't confuse me for someone who's not. He's got tools, he is still raw though. His shot needs work. But I think he has the work ethic and defense for self to give him a longer leash early

I just think it's silly to assume a freshman is beating out older players. We've seen this time and time again. Self values efficiency and experience. Selfs best teams play with experience. And there are 3 really good guards on this roster not named elmarko. He's going to have to earn it.
