I think you're going to see the prosecution take a page from the House dems' 1/6 hearings playbook. The prosecution will support its case primarily - to the greatest extent practicable, exlcusively - with (1) Trump's own words/statements/sentiments, and (2) testimony of those within/around his orbit (Republicans/appointees).

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Trump is pathological.
Israeli clay lamps, intended for a brief exhibition in Washington D.C. in 2019, got stranded in the U.S. due to the pandemic. Recently, they were found at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida

Amazing that he'll more than likely get convicted here not for actually doing something clever but highly illegal, like selling state secrets for cash. But instead for doing something stupid and highly illegal, like brandishing state secrets for attention.

The DoJ cannot coordinate with Fani Willis.KUTradition wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 9:32 am trump apparently notified he’s a target of DoJ grand jury investigation into 1/6
But I'm wondering if whatever charges DoJ brings here will be artful NOT to cover the charges Willis can bring over the Raffensperger call and other Georgia things.
For several reasons - among them, (1) removal to favorable federal courts (including the Supreme Court), and (2) the reach of a possible pardon - DoJ might not want to fire every bullet.

i think thus far Smith has played his hand artfully (i wouldn’t be surprised if there are more documents charges NOT related to maralago)jfish26 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 9:35 amThe DoJ cannot coordinate with Fani Willis.KUTradition wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 9:32 am trump apparently notified he’s a target of DoJ grand jury investigation into 1/6

i’d be shocked if he intentionally handicapped Willis

Not being critical of what you said. Just reducing it to its simplest form.KUTradition wrote: ↑Tue Jul 18, 2023 11:26 am= election tampering (there are both Georgia and federal laws prohibiting such things)
If the first we’d heard of the Georgia call was in Willis’ indictment, it’d be a smokier gun than the Bedminster tape is in the docs case.

Re: Charges
At least he is consistent in his "anything that entered the White House during MY administration is MINE" approach. I would bet there is all sorts of stuff he stole from the White House under similar circumstances. He never did understand that Head of State gifts belong to the office/White House and not him specifically.

What SHOULD happen to a person who keeps top secret information they’re not entitled to have? And shows it off to people without clearances?
What SHOULD happen to someone who seeks out officials to rig votes?
What SHOULD happen to someone who knowingly lights a fire in a gas-soaked building? And then waits hours to call the fire department once the building is engulfed in flames?
(And to think that 1/3 of the country actively WANT this guy to be put back into power. My god.)
