PROVE that this is what happens before you roll that avalanche of assumptions down the mountain behind it. They are not adequately enforcing the laws on the books for hiring illegals. This has been proven over and over and over. You're once again starting with a false assumption as well as working backwards in your logic. Enforce the damn laws.

And if the governors of Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi are to blame for the continued flow of illegals over the border then you just answered your question of "where do you recommend that Abbott send these illegals?" It's as if shipping them to Democrat-run cities is just a political stunt and not a "you're causing the problem, you deal with the results of the problem" action.

Maybe his constituents would be better off if he addressed the problem and enforced the laws in his state instead of doing publicity stunts. Maybe he could spend the money spent on those publicity stunts on ramping up enforcement of ALL sides of the immigration issue within his state instead of turning a blind eye to one of the most serious parts of the problem so that he can get tax revenue and campaign contributions from the companies benefitting from undocumented workers in his state.

Perhaps, but we both know that is not how the political game is played. He is leveraging publicity to what he feels is his best advantage. I don't know how else you get people in D.C. or Martha's Vineyard to care otherwise.

When my daughter was in elementary school she had a classmate from an Eastern European country. Her dad and mom worked in tech and helped the mom’s brother immigrate. He owned a business which had cleaning contracts for office buildings. He had contracts for numerous buildings.

His business was thriving because of the way he hired and paid workers. He brought friends and family and family of friends from the home country. They entered the country legally on the Schengen tourist visa. They were allowed to remain for six months but not allowed to work. He packed them in an apartment and paid them about third/half of minimum wage. They worked for about five and a half months and returned. They were replaced by a new crew. I think he had three or four teams which rotated. They didn’t raise any flags because they were all white.

Good grief. We've had that southern border with Mexico since the late 1840s and the "little slice of hell" is how wide, less than 50 miles? At that rate it will be a thousand years before any sort of majority of the country feels that. Just stop with the lame ass BS scare tactics. They obviously work on you but for those that can read a map and recognize just how vast the continental US is, they're just dumb.

It’s not a problem that’s curable.

You say you’re not a rube. Ok - I presume you understand that very much a rube thing to do is to identify an unsolvable problem, and then get very angry about the people you don’t like not solving the problem.

It’s a mitigation thing, not a solving thing. That means practical and practicable steps. Not brute force “cures”.
