Well, that's one way to show that you aren't trying to win an election.

How so? I think that idea is popular amongst the people he needs to court in the primaries.

The best thing he has going for him in the GOP Primaries is that he is younger and may appeal to younger republicans. If the only group of GOP primary voters he is going for are the old ones then I doubt they vote for him over Trump or Desantis.
