This era of Trump logic has set critical thinking back generations. Ugh, it's all just so transparent and dumb. Feels like when your kid is trying to convince you that they didn't do something wrong even though you saw them do it and have it on video that they did it. How are we still having these arguments?jfish26 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 11:40 amYou just don't understand. The hard law of the universe is that both sides do it exactly the same. So, proof of Trump doing it simply IS proof that Biden does it. So we know Biden does it. It's just a matter of finding it.twocoach wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 11:37 amComplaining about how corrupt politicians are while blowing off Trump's corruption just shows how unserious they are about their arguments. I had not heard that term before. The "lord" part of it just seems to confirm my thoughts on the "delusions of grandeur" that fuel the rubes. The more I hear come out of his mouth the moore "Ramasmarmy" fits the pint sized, non-christian, political action figure.

it makes sense
ramalamadingdong has the grift down to a tee…now he’s just shifting his target to pubs, rather than pharma investors and alzheimer’s patients

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

I don’t think “smarmy” fits him; he’s too hyper.japhy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 12:03 pm I had not heard that term before. I would love nothing more than to be the dumbest person on the planet.
A simple application of some common sense and a consistent sense of right and wrong would suffice. I just don't understand this whole show of otherwise smart people behaving in such an ignorant manner.

A book with nothing but questions in it wouldn't be much of a read since I have no clue what's wrong with people is who still defend Trump despite the mountain of evidence that shows that their reasoning is flawed or nonexistent. It would certainly take someone smarter than me to answer the questions because the people I am questioning have done a terrible job explaining themselves in any sort of sensible manner so far.DCHawk1 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 1:32 pmYou should write a book: "What's the Matter with Everyone who isn't Me?"twocoach wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 1:26 pmI would love nothing more than to be the dumbest person on the planet.

Lack of better options. It's not just the Ds. I'd vote for a candidate from either party who was better. But, to answer your question, it's the political machine that exists irrespective of the voters.jfish26 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 1:55 pmOk. Re: 2024
There are better options available to the GOP in 2024 if they just had the guts to renounce Trump. Since GOP primary voters are too scared to vote for them just like Dems were too scared to vote for a better option than Biden in the 2020 primaries, we're saddled with Trump.JKLivin wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 1:53 pmLack of better options. Re: 2024
Ok. But - just as in 2016 and 2020 (and, checks notes, every year in my memory)…the Ds are putting forward a fairly normal, if normally-flawed, candidate.
The Rs, just as in 2016 and 2020, going to put forward…Trump. Whose criminality and anti-Americanism are the same today as they were then, it’s just more crystallized and documented (and advanced) today.

Re: 2024
If "accomplice to Trump's crime spree" is a disqualifier, then there are not very many better choices indeed. More than half of the last GOP Debate stage would be disqualified for that.jfish26 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 2:46 pmtwocoach wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 2:01 pmThere are better options available to the GOP in 2024 if they just had the guts to renounce Trump.
