It's a decent idea when you're a country the size of Norway, which is just 148,000 sq miles (about the size of Montana). But there is just too much resource rich land in the US.Sparko wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 11:10 pmExxon would just arrange a split to guarantee that you never saw a dime of a national resource they stealtwocoach wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 1:14 pmNot sure if I would be a big fan of the government owning the oil and mineral rights to the land that I own.Sparko wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 12:35 pm I will say that Norway owns its oil and mineral assets as part of a national sovereign fund and leads the world economies again in both standard of living, happiness and economic growth and indices. I heard this many decades ago “the concept of ‘ownership’ of land is like two fleas arguing over who owns the dog”.twocoach wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 1:14 pmNot sure if I would be a big fan of the government owning the oil and mineral rights to the land that I own.Sparko wrote: ↑Mon Aug 28, 2023 12:35 pm I will say that Norway owns its oil and mineral assets as part of a national sovereign fund and leads the world economies again in both standard of living, happiness and economic growth and indices. Eh, a seller will almost always take the cash offer over the offer that requires financing so how does this change anything related to Blackrock?

If he promises if he is elected that he will be shirtless at all the public events he attends - I will vote for him in the Democratic Primary. In a heartbeat.
Heck, I'll camp out overnight so I can be the first person to vote for him at my polling place.

I assume there are people who love RFK Jr., personally.
I would imagine those people are heartbroken that his “out” years are going to be spent devolving into weirder and weirder conspiracies, chasing the kook high to its terminus.

At least until pdub has the hamsters working right again, you'll have to go to the trouble of posting a bit more original thought and support behind these (assuredly-dumb) conclusions.randylahey wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 10:16 am They're trying to kill another kennedy.
