Agreed. I don't consider myself a Republican. I am a conservative. Neither party really gives me much to work with, but, the Republican candidate is usually the least objectionable. I would love to have a candidate I can be enthusiastic about.

How did Vivek acquire his money? Essentially, it involves Vivek acquiring a failed pharmaceutical drug that went through 4 unsuccessful trials that he would market as an Alzheimer's breakthrough. He put his mom, a doctor, on the research team and suddenly, the drug showed remarkable improvement (Ahem). The drug was rebranded, and his company took in millions. Yet before the phase 3 trials began, Vivek and his family emptied their shares.

The saga involves manipulated data, a company based in Bermuda, destroyed lives and alleged insider training knowledge.

The thing is that there’s a fig leaf of separation for Vivek; he’s independently wealthy*, so he gets to cover himself in BUSINESS GUY glory.

* Of course, his independent wealth is derived from what amounts to grift…but the Rs will tell you his wealth means he’s not a grift risk. As if that’s stopping The Defendant.
