also, fuck!

so before I leave for WA on Sunday, an old girlfriend from KC was coming to visit. We're gonna just spend the weekend hanging in Denver. But! apparently KC's getting blasted with snow and she's getting these alerts that her flight this afternoon may be delayed or cancelled....in which case I'm hanging by myself in a fancy hotel in Denver for the next couple nights, lol

I might go...not sure. Running a long distance in the morning, probably will stay home to watch the game.

Boarded just fine with two fly rods by my side, plus a mess of steelhead flies in my bag. The only TSA who said a thing was one guy who said he was jelly and asked if he could take my spot.

Denver airport might be the worst for security. Every single traveler goes through the same line. Legit taken over an hour before, but early Sunday morning I was through in maybe 30 minutes.

Super excited to be a tourist for a week...y’all wish me luck!

I try to have at least one trip away from the cold snowy mountains each season.

Last year I went to KS Maryland and Michigan in April, hoping to maybe at least get a mild day...nope! It snowed all 3 places while I was there.

So this winter, instead of trying to actually go somewhere warm, I decided to instead embrace the cold - albeit a damp coastal cold instead of the arid high country cold.

Gonna be in the town of Forks for a week. Hopefully we get into some fish, and don’t get seduced by sexy vampires.

I think Denver's airport is the quickest security line I have ever gone through. That not normal there?

Really?

Compared to, like, any other airport ever?

It’s just silly that every traveler goes thru the same security line. Then you have to get on a train and ride it to your gate.

Compared to KCI where you can get dropped off pretty much in front of the security line that’s pretty much in front of your gate and boom you’re off!

Security at KCI got measurably worse when it became apparent that a new airport was forthcoming. It sure felt to me like the airport purposely allowed security to get more annoying and slower so as to neutralize the most common arguments against a new airport.
