Money and higher profile program usually are the reasons. However Gutter is for sure pushing LL to his hometown Northwestern who after paying the coach they fired isn't going to happen cause they going to be broke. LOL
i get that; i just don’t get the sense that he’s looking for greener pastures. he seems to me to be the kind of guy that doesn’t see his work here as being done
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

So JD could sit out this year and play two more years which if not a 100 percent might be super cool. We have Bean and this offense which is good not JD good but still. WE are in top 25 and favored on the road without our #1 QB.

Yep I'm with you he isn't looking to go anywhere. He could get an offer that for some reason he can not refuse but not likely.
Look at all the reasons not to.

I'm hoping Lance realizes this and helps bring us to a contender in the new B12.
We have chance next year to be the new Big 12 champs. OU and UT off to SEC. The new teams we added this year have not won one game against existing Big 12 teams so far. Of the teams we are adding only Utah and the Buffs could cause some problems. Next year the playoffs expanding to 12 teams.

We getting a new football stadium.

We in the college football PLAYOFFS.

With the way things are going, there is no reason to think KU can't be a top 3 team in the Big XII year in and year out.

I didn't fully research the rules but isn't the medical hardship limited to three games.
That's where Daniels stands right now.
If he really wanted another two!! years at Kansas after this one, he might be able to get that.

He has been offered both of those opportunities already. He seems to be happy where he is. Northwestern isn't a better job than some of the offers he has no doubt already had. If he didn't go to Wisconsin then he isn't going to freaking Northwestern.

Yes or he could just reshirt which is four games. He was going to redshirt but then he went and beat Texas.

Deshawn Warner becomes a 4-star recruit and now Michigan and Ohio State want him.

We only have 15 commits but our recruiting class is Aces. The two top recruits Warner and Brinkley are Edge Rushers. Warner is one of three players from the same school from Arizona all playing defense who are committed to KU. The first one we were looking at CB Gibson is Warner's cousin.

The key to this is Edge Rusher. When we went from Les to LL the offensive players were plug and play. The defense was a whole different story. Les ran 3-4 defense and his players did not fit the 4-3 we run now. They brought in Lonnie to fill that role and ly they got Booker. These players are really the key to our defensive improvement. There are situations downs and distance where you want two on the field.

An example of this would be Jermaine Johnson. He is a for sure 4-3 edge rusher who happened to go to Georgia who happens to run a 3-4. At Georgia he was a situational player. He transfers to FSU who run a 4-3 defense and becomes a every down player. Boom he is picked in the first round.

Bean does a number of things well but he hasn’t learned you can press the throw button at different pressures to get touch/loft.
No doubt we would rather Daniels but I think it’s closer than most on the bored think. Both are the best QBs we have had in a while and that’s a good thing.
Bean is just over 500 yards passing away from being a top 10 QB all time at Kansas in that category.
While I would like him to hit that mark, I also do not want him to.

I would like Bean to come in and situationally run the wishbone even if JD returns.

JD staying 2 more years could lose us a talented young QB in development.

I’m starting to question Daniel’s desire to play. There’s hurt and there’s injured.

yup, and it doesn't look good for the Okla game. Hope he's enjoying his $470Kish NIL, won't last much longer
