Those are huge increases in a short time. A much more realistic perspective of the economy than these other Cherry picked numbers

(There is really not such a thing as statistics that are NOT "cherry-picked"; that's how endpoints work. An adult would probably agree that NEITHER stock market indices NOR consumer price data, over any given period of time, are perfectly (or perhaps even well) representative of overall economic health.)randylahey wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 1:45 pmExactly
Re: Uncle Joe
almost 3 full years in. i cannot imagine what could/can transpire before nov 24 that gets uncle re-elected. that will have to be some wild wild stuff.
Re: Uncle Joe
And most adults realize that the office of president has minimal control on any of that and never has really. It's all just talking points for the rubes.jfish26 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 2:07 pm (There is really not such a thing as statistics that are NOT "cherry-picked"; that's how endpoints work. in your opinion is cost of living less, the same, or higher than it was 2 years ago?jfish26 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 2:07 pm(There is really not such a thing as statistics that are NOT "cherry-picked"; that's how endpoints work. we can debate why and how and who's responsible all day.
You can call that article based on cherry picked numbers if you want but it is an aggregation of the accepted measures of cost (with food costs added as a separate entity). It is also from CNBC which is not a notoriously Maga source.....

Can you imagine Trump trying to manage Ukraine and Israel? Yikes.

Purely anecdotally, I think my own cost of living is noticeably higher today than it was 2 (or 4, or 6, etc.) years ago.TDub wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 2:22 pmin your opinion is cost of living less, the same, or higher than it was 2 years ago?jfish26 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 2:07 pm(There is really not such a thing as statistics that are NOT "cherry-picked"; that's how endpoints work. That should give a decent indication of reality without cherry picking anything for a message board argument.

the demonrats have never been good with the economy. so it should come as no surprise that uncle is struggling mightily and under water. the economy is not their thing.

Leaders in the middle east were literally signing peace accords under trump. Can you imagine it under Biden? Biden would send money that gets funneled into terrorism while congressmen buy war stocks

Re: Uncle Joe
The cost of living is higher now and we all know it. There is really no reason to bicker about statistics. Costs are up all across the board

Sure. The tough part is the "why and who's responsible"!TDub wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 2:26 pmas is mine, as is every person I know.jfish26 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 2:24 pmPurely anecdotally, I think my own cost of living is noticeably higher today than it was 2 (or 4, or 6, etc.) years ago.TDub wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2023 2:22 pm

DJIA is up 5000 points since election day. Big chair man do good.
Re: Uncle Joe
I realize I'm just arguing to argue....I totally understand that.
But, DJIA up 15% COL up 13% Food up 20% fuel up 38%
no good.

Re: Uncle Joe
My cost of living is almost the same as ever, with robust growth in investments. Russia attacking Ukraine, fed interest hikes (to end the run on housing) are pretty much the only variables fueling regional inflation. In Texas, gas is fifty cents lower than Kansas, which I am visiting. Gasoline is down about a buck from early summer.
Trump papering over catastrophe was the main fuel for the corrections under Biden. My mortgage was locked into a great rate during the Obama days.

Re: Uncle Joe
Food and fuel spikes are Russian invasion related.
