It's a shame such a marvelous talent is sidelined by this. His skill set and leadership qualities are hard to come by.

i remember seeing jd his freshman season at k-state and said to myself then: this kid is going to be a stud. he was clearly so athletic even then.

It’s a different set of circumstances 100%, but NC State just announced he’s redshirting this year instead of coming back.

Taken at face value, happy he’ll have two years left at Kansas. This is best possible outcome for him, and KU, assuming no further injury.

You can play in 4 games and still redshirt. So far, Ballard has played in 3 as has Daniels. Assuming Daniels' statement today is an indicator they are shutting him down to get his back healthy, so he shouldn't lose a year of eligibility for this season. Ballard, hard to say, but it sounds like Bean's going to go on Saturday.
