You are aware people got caught in violations previous to this, right?
That the NCAA could be more consistent with their punishments is inarguable.
It's also in arguable that they're capable of catching a large % of violations. That was apparent during the trials. Laundry lists of players cleared who likely committed violations and played.
The problem pdub is talking about isn't that there are people getting away with shit, even the fbi clearly didn't catch everyone who's cheating. The problem pdub is talking about is that some guys get caught taking $2,000 and get suspended for 9 games and some guys get caught taking $2,000 and get suspended for two seasons.
You don't have to catch everyone who steals cars in order for the punishment to be a deterrent.
But you can't have one car thief get a $50 fine and the next one get the death penalty.
