That being said, since the republican 2024 sweepstakes began, I've always felt she likely presented the biggest threat to Biden, not only but mainly because she lost the genetics lottery and is missing a Y chromosome...
However, and even tho in many ways she (imo) has done better in the debates than the other pretenders, she has been a huge disappointment, at least up to now. (Being the best house in a bad neighborhood isn't a bad thing, but the bar has been pretty low.)
Everyone understands why none of the republican candidates, (other than Christie who doesn't have much of a chance), who haven't paid for sex with a porn star, (that we know of), will criticize the guy who stole classified information and then refused to return it. It's republican political suicide. But if you're running against Trump, but being careful not to run against Trump, your chances of beating Trump aren't good.
What's her position on abortion? One minute she's lecturing her party about how they have to be nicer to women vis-a-vis abortion, and the next she's meeting with evangelicals in Iowa telling them she'll sign a 6-week federal ban on abortion. Which is it, Nikki?
She's also in favor of changing Social Security by delaying the age when people become eligible. That might sound good to the Koch brothers, Leonard Leo, Harlan Crow, and japhy, but telling the nation's janitors, secretaries, and blue collar workers they have to work into their late 60s before they qualify is not going to play well in the run up to the election.
And, although if Trump is convicted and facing prison her "inclination to pardon" him will definitely be a benefit, if she actually beats Trump in the primaries and gets the nomination fair and square, it's hard to imagine that Trump won't go out sideways and do everything he can to hold onto his cult members and take her and other republicans who lack the cult loyalty gene, down with him.
But, what do I know. Plus, it's too far out to know anything for sure. Yet.
