Max Abmas went from Oral Roberts to Texas and is Texas' leading scorer at 17.8 ppg
Jordan Dingle went from Penn to St Johns and is averaging 11.3 ppg
Ray J Dennis went from Toledo to Baylor and is averaging 13.9 ppg
Jalen Cook went from Tulane to LSU and is averaging 13.o ppg
Jameer Nelson Jr. went from Delaware to TCU and is averaging 11.4 ppg
Tylor Perry went from North Texas to Kansas State and is averaging 15.7 ppg
Grant Nelson went from North Dakota State to Alabama and is averaging 13.6 ppg
Graham Ike went from Wyoming to Gonzaga and is averaging 13.4 ppg
Zyon Pullin went from UC Riverside to Florida and is averaging 12.7 ppg
Khalif Battle went from Temple to Arkansas and is averaging 15.1 ppg
Dalton Knecht went from Northern Colorado to Tennessee and is averaging 16.5 ppg
Aaron Estrada went from Hofstra to Alabama and is averaging 14.4 ppg
Walter Clayton went from Iona to Florida and is averaging 16.5 ppg
Javian McCollum went from Siena to Oklahoma and is averaging 14.3
Will Baker went from Nevada to LSU and is averaging 12.2 ppg

Nicolas Timberlake went from Towson to Kansas and is averaging 3.2 ppg

Literally every single one of the players ahead of Timberlake on the transfer rankings who went from a non-P6 program to a P6 program are averaging double digits this year. Every single one. That is just a stupid amount of bad luck for KU.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out over the next 5 years. Maybe it spreads the Top 50 recruits out over more teams over time as the big names start relying on transfers more to fill needs. It certainly appears that the numbers are better for the transfers than they are for recruits. My guess is that if you dropped it down to the Top 50 vs. Mitch's Top 15 he reviewed, that the numbers would be even more heavily skewed towards the transfers.

Transfers are the future it's true.

I think Bill wants to continue building his rosters with freshman he can develop as the core of the team tho. To keep the culture there. And supplement it with a couple transfers every year

Agreed. I think Self's system is complicated, especially on defense and you can only get that togetherness as a team from having some core guys playing together for multiple years. Transfers are great supplements but shouldn't be the primary source. That said, our two best players this year are both transfers.

I think the transfers become more likable if they stay more than one year. I feel a lot differently about KM today than I do going into last year.

I think HDs legacy will be less *ick*-ish (for some) if he stays two years.

The transfer trend also makes me like and appreciate players like DH and Kj so much more.

sooo

How’s Jamari project?

I think obviously another utility perimeter player.

But maybe the question is, does he have lead guard potential?

I think Jamari projects anywhere from transfer candidate due to getting recruited over to 4 year player who in the right circumstances gets a chance to start his junior or senior year. I think it totally depends on how patient he is willing to be.

hes undersized, but fearless and doesn't look scared or overwhelmed. I like him, I've been pleasantly surprised with his work thus far. He's got s chance to play in the next couple years, probably won't be a big time, premier guard but he's the kind of guard Aelf likes and knows how to use.

Transfers are also more likeable if they win. If McCullar's team made a Final Four/title run last year, we'd think of him differently in that one year, too.

I wouldn't think of KM any differently with a FF last year.

I would think of Jalen and Gradey differently though.

For reference, my opinion of Remy didn't change much with a natty. He was my least favorite of the rotation players on that team.

I wouldn't have thought different about Kevin.

I think coach is right it would change some people's opinions.

I think also, how much the NIL discussion has shed some light on things however, and revealed that a lot of our fans/fandom is a bit more shallow than I had anticipated.

I really hope jamari doesn't transfer away. He's a perfect role player. I don't think he has "lead guard" potential down the line.

But long term he could be like a travis releford type

I like the jerseys a good amount.
Down with the font for Kansas.
I don't like the font for the numbers but do love the textured red with the offset blue outline.

I don’t love that the piping on the shorts comes outta nowhere.
